TYVM! I was flying an A320 in X Plane and for some reason the landing gear did not retract. I heard a suspicious noise in the cockpit and the indicated speed did not increase. And I saw gear not uplocked😆

i often have this issue, I Thought it was a bug like the APU autoshutdown ( which I still have time to time). Even If I haven't read the A320 non normal procedure, I did what you did and it resolves the issue but I still don't like to have random issues when we set radom failure to off....

Hi. I think you mean moving viewpoint with the mouse? That is done by selecting pull&drag by holding down my center mouse button (scrollwheel).

The exact same thing happened to me today. I'm new to Airbus and wasn't so happy! I diverted to LIML but "bent" the aeroplane on arrival. Wish I'd seen this video earlier! :)

The FSLabs has a Cold and Dark panel state. You can access it through the MCDU

Well you posted your question below the FSLabs A320 video. Anyways, the PMDG also has standard Cold and Dark states in the MCDU. I have never used any other states than those

Ok I don't want support for PMDG. I'm talking about a file like PMDG CLD where stored the state of the the plane. So I have resolved my issue ( a bad offset declaration in my Acars app). Also found a way to avoid bad Panel State saved in Prepar3D.cfg Thanks Fred

How often do these random failures occur?

I honestly don't know. This was the first failure after logging about 50 hours on the A320-X. But you can select random failures to occur every 8 hours for example.

Exciting. The first option is what I'm looking for. (Selecting one event per X hours isn't exactly random to me, since it will definitely happen within that timeframe...)

Hi VivaLaEmil1. Once you are in the cockpit go to the MCDU and press the key MCDU MENU. Then on the right side select the prompt "failures". Next select the prompt [ ] on the top left. Now scroll through the menus until you find the prompts " engine 1 birdstrike". Now select a certain speed, altitude or time for this failure to occur. Repeat these steps for "engine 2 birdstrike". Regards

Thank you for your detailed instructions. However I mean the "random" failures, do you have to activate that as a setting or is it on by default? I just got an ECAM warning when taking off about the automatic fuel feed not working so I guess random failures are on by default?

Blackbox, really enjoying your videos, you've inspired me to get into flight sims. Quick question from your description of this failure: You said that after each gear full cycle it swaps LGCIU, so by recycling it swaps to the serviceable one and the gear travels. Would this mean that on approach at destination when you select gear down as last time it used the serviceable LGCIU it would swop to the failed one and again fail, you would then have to go through the actions to get it to swop to the serviceable one. Or is the system clever enough not to select the U/S one again? Cheers RotaryBuzz

Hi. Thank you very much for your kind words! Very good question. The now working LGCIU would also be used for the gear extension. The system is indeed clever enough to deselect the faulty LGCIU. Regards

Hi halbi. You can trigger the failure by time, speed or altitude. Also you can execute the failure immediately. Regards
