INteresting as usual. Prescribed tracks are not stored in the database because they are intended to be flown visually, but there are many other cases where custom waypoints come into a huge help. thanks

Blackbox711 what's your take on aerosoft A319 vs Fslabs A319 in terms of flight dynamics? Aerosoft seems to be very nimble compared to Fslabs which is more stable while hand flying. Can you possibly make a comparison video of which is more realistic?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 6 жыл бұрын
I am aware that people are keen on hearing my thoughts on the Aerosoft A319. I have tried the Aerosoft A319 and have to say that it is a good addon for beginners. The flight dynamics are indeed simple and easier to handle than the real aircraft. Also the systems are not modeled deeply and anyone more proficient with the A320 could get bored with it very quickly.

Why did u not make DU02 and GR into overfly waypoints in order to achieve the exact nice constant 180 turn like on the chart? As i understand the chart u should start the turn at DU02 but the way u have it in the fmc u would start the turn before.

If I create Pilot Waypoints ( actual on Madeira 05 Approach) I get the new waypoints in blue color only. The AP don`t follow my new points. Have I to create a second flightplan every time to make an active ( white not blue) approachway ?

Great, nice to see you again here on your channel, I hope you enjoy the summertime ..this function for circeling approach is verry important, thanks for explanation. I` m still missing in the new FSL A319 the offset - function. What do you say as real pilot for the importance about the offset function ? Can you give a concrete example for that ? Thanks Lothar
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 6 жыл бұрын
Hi. Personally I don't use the offset function in real life. It can be helpful when you need a route offset because of a thunderstorm on the original route. On the 747 I used the offset function more often, especially over Africa to fly 2 NM right of centerline of the airways.
@koloinflight3799
@koloinflight3799 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I understood on shorter flights with B737 or Airbusses offset is not common. We using offset during online groupflights on VATSIM or Flugsimulatorclub to seperate in one direction. I hope FSLab will implement this function in the A320 - Familie (64bit) again. Other question: Can we expect your handling with the new Airbus- Generation by AEROSOFT ( at moment A318-A319) ? Lothar

Finally had a chance to try this out at Nice on an Rnav22RD approach. However it didn't really go to plan! The waypoints i created from the VOR stayed blue. So on my initial flight plan the final waypoint was map022 and not the runway weirdly. So i added the vor beacon for the airport something like AZR i think and then created a waypoint from the radial according to the distance from the chart. On my first approach the plane turned to fly along the first part of the blue line to my created waypoint but then didnt make the turn to follow the blue line to the runway! Just wondering why they were blue and not green and why the runway wasn't on the plan either?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 6 жыл бұрын
It is difficult to say exactly what went wrong. However as long as the programmed route is not green, it is not active. So be careful when entering your programmed waypoints into the F-PLN

What would you do if you had to go around? As circling approach is part of precision approach (ILS 12 in this case), would you apply go around procedure for RWY 12 or 30?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 3 жыл бұрын
You would always follow the missed approach of the initial instrument approach. That means if you are in the circling procedure you need to turn back to the original missed approach track for the instrument approach. And this must be done in the circling area. Unless of course there is a different instruction published in the airport information chart.
@onculkoparan
@onculkoparan 3 жыл бұрын
@@Blackbox711 yeah but isn’t it kinda weird not knowing the exact procedure to apply for missed approach procedure? Like we have to turn 180 degrees in order to apply the missed approach procedure. As there is no published procedure that I know, is it all pilot discretion?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 3 жыл бұрын
For the Airport LDDU there are published missed approach procedures when in the circling approach. If you are approaching an airport with a circling approach and no missed approach instructions given, the standard procedure is to rejoin the original instrument approach go around procedure. And yes that means you might need to do a 180 degree turn to do so. Still better than climbing up towards the inbound traffic on the instrument approach.
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 3 жыл бұрын
And that standard procedure is known by pilots and is therefore applied accordingly.

Two questions please : 1- If the radar give an ILS APR clearance, Can I use a VOR DME instead? 2- FOR a VOR DME Y with loop, can I enter directly to the base leg or It's necessary to go above the VOR? :)
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 6 жыл бұрын
1) You need to fly the cleared approach. If you want to fly the VOR DME instead you need to get the clearance from ATC for that
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 6 жыл бұрын
2) you need to stay on the published route in order to assure terrain clearance. If you deviate away from the route you need to make sure you have the necessary terrain/obstacle clearance

Couldn't you just enter the waypoint into the FPLN page, indexed where it needs to be, of course?
@Blackbox711
@Blackbox711 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can enter waypoints via the mentioned definitions as well directly on the F-PLN page. However, there you can't choose your own identifier names. And if you don't have the place/bearing info published (for example a non standard visual approach at an airfield) it is better to do this via the method I have shown. That way you can fine-tune the waypoints before actually entering them in the F-PLN page.
