Dear oh dear. Little boys eh? I and I am sure many others very much appreciate what you do and the simple and clear way that you explain things. Although I am a long term armchair pilot I have learnt a lot from your videos. Keep up the good work!

Hey Doofer, I like one of your other commentors have been "flying" fsx for a long time but I still look out for your videos. Every day is a school day, and there is always something to learn. The negative comments are unjust, rude and immature. So maybe 'a sedan rat' (I like anagrams!) could learn from you as well. Keep the content coming as I do enjoy it.

Next generation of flight sim needs to have atis reports in both the FAA and icao formats depending on aircraft location
@davenorton55768 жыл бұрын
This is probably a stupid question, but how do you start at the terminal? Whenever I start, it starts me ON the runway.
@Doofer9118 жыл бұрын
When you're selecting the airport, there's a drop down which allows you to chose a specific runway or ramp number
@Oscarius8 жыл бұрын
When you choose an airport in FSX there is an option called "Choose runway/starting position". By default this will say "Active Runway" but if you click on it you should be able to choose one of the gates or parking spots.

So if I was flying towards a VOR at 347 reciprocal would I subtract 180 to get the correct radial/reciprocal?
@Doofer9116 жыл бұрын
Yep
@benjamindegroot58576 жыл бұрын
Thanks! One question... Is this a VFR flight?
@Doofer9116 жыл бұрын
This would technically be IFR.
@benjamindegroot58576 жыл бұрын
Doofer911 Thanks! But, I always thought that IFR is under ATC controls, so that they give you directions during IFR. But that isn't always true then?
@Doofer9116 жыл бұрын
In reality, yes that's correct. I tend to avoid using ATC in FSX however this flight was still flown primarily by interpreting what the instruments were telling me
@treborhg_93817 жыл бұрын
where can I find accurate fsx charts for sid, star, approach, etc?
@Doofer9117 жыл бұрын
Search google. For example, for London Heathrow, search for "EGLL charts"
@treborhg_93817 жыл бұрын
but most of those charts would not be accurate to fsx since they have been updated since the game was released. Are there any website that has charts that are accurate to fsx?
@Doofer9117 жыл бұрын
Not sure, a google search will give you an answer.

For a quicker way to find the in-date charts for an airport, search for the country's AIP, e.g. "UK AIP". This should give you a link to the country's Aeronautical Information Publication, e.g. www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadbasic/eais-F36B3D97539E60324B23214F166F1E6E/3QDXTD5E6YWTY/EN/2017-03-30-AIRAC/html/index-ead-en-GB.html?target=eAIP/EG-GEN-0.1-en-GB.html for the UK. From here, go to "Part 3 - Aerodromes (AD)", then "AD2". Click on the airport you want charts for, then "Charts related to an aerodrome". This will show you all of the current charts, provided free of use for real pilots.
