Hi guys, steam has updates the downloading configuration. ASN will now be a one step download, and all you need to do is start the ASN configuration from Steam Library

I purchased AS16 and ASCA yesterday and am now busily watching crazy amounts of KZbin vids trying to learn how to use it especially with interaction with Simbrief and the FMC on the PMDG 747. Yes you do still need it open in order for it to inject your weather. This is true not only of the version for FSX:SE but also for Prepar3D and X-Plane

buying ASN-SE will also allow me to run it with FSX boxed or maybe is better to buy it directly from HiFi since theirs is both fsx, fsx-se and p3d compatible?????, differnce is that SE is a lot cheaper here in my country

+MVasdf ASN-SE only works with FSX:SE. If you want to be able to use acros platforms then you need to pick up the standard version from your Favourite Flight simulation retailer such as pcaviator.com.au or flightsimstore.com

Good morning everyone, I bought today and did the whole process but Active Sky does not start open, however when starting to play the music closes and then I don’t know what else to do. I can't run it. Does anyone get any method or way to solve this and make the program work?

Not sure I'm afraid. If it is Active Sky that is crashing and not your sim, I would recommend sending a support ticket to Hi-Fi sims or to the helpdesk for FSX:Steam Edition

When you go to install FSX:SE (or any Steam title) and you have multiple drives available you can select which one you want to install. Check out Steam's tutorials for more assistance on this!

I believe you have to manually install the tool as outlined in the video. After that it is start up then it configures itself!

I haven't experienced it myself, but I have heard of it. I would recommend a quick online search and/or contact Hi-Fi customer support! It usually is a permissions issue for accessing your sims installation path

Ok, I clicked on SimConnect in my Active Sky Next folder and it seems to have done the trick. Now....I have added Active Sky Cloud Art. Are you familiar with this add-on?

I'm having trouble getting EzDock and this program to run at the same time. I can only get one to work at a time. Very annoyed. Any known fixes? I've heard it has to do with the simconnect client...

Not sure I'm afraid. I have switched from EZDOK over to ChasePlane as it offered a more streamlined interface and options of controlling the camera with an X-Box controller. Have you tried contacting the developers and raising a support ticket?

@@Novawing24 Thanks for replying, eventually I found a hotfix (which was for P3D but worked with FSX as well) which sorted out the simconnect bug. BTW, latest version supports xbox controller cam movement :)

I have REX Textures with Soft Clouds. I first run REX Textures, and from there I start FSX. So then, now will this application work with REX Textures with Soft Clouds, if at all?

You don't need to run REX textures each time you start the sim, just once or if you want to change the look of your textures

I've not experienced ASN FSX:SE causing any crashes. Though it can stress your system with the amount of data it injects if you combine it with a texture addon like Texture Direct

Do you mean it is is something like Program Files x86 - Steam - steam apps - common - FSX. If so, just install it there, i guess.

How do you save a flight plan in ASN so I can use it in FSX? Every time I open FSX it assumes I want to fly out of Friday Harbor...

By default it will read the flight plan loaded within the flight sim. Create one in FSX or Plan-G or any other flight plan utility, load it into the aircraft then ASN will normally read the info. You can also create one in ASN on the plan tab by entering your starting and ending airports and other required information.

Thank you! The whole installation did run pretty well (I followed your steps), but I have a problem now. When I open my FSX:SE, in the ASN software it says that the sim is connected, but in the FSX the weather doesn't change (I have it on clear weather settings as you said) and in the Add-On Tab above ASN doesn't appear either. What to do now? Do you have any recommendations?

Sounds like the sim connect module isn't communicating correctly. I would recommend raising a ticket with DoveTail Game's support desk and they should be able to help you out! Good Luck

Thank you very much! I think I "solved" the problem by reinstalling the Addon. I had already contacted the support and a user in the FSX forum recommended to check out the hotkey-setting and the installation folder. Anyways, it works, so thank you. Love your videos. :D

Hesham Elwahsh I have some of the ORBX Steam releases (Meigs Field and Friday Harbour) so they install via Steam. The rest of my ORBX library is installed using the standard installers from Flight Sim Store

ActiveSky overwrites the normal FSX weather, so no. To change your weather do it in ActiveSky or don't load ASN and use default weather in sim.

Make sure you have installed and run the ASN tool from the Tool section of your Steam Library. Otherwise send a support ticket through to DTG they will help you out!

PrecipitFx affects aircraft and renders the effects by the current situation in sim, including that injected by ASN (so yes!)

Concerning Active Sky Next Basic tutorial: Thank you for your efforts, but I do have a problem. I have dyslexia and can't understand what you say. I wish I could play it back at half speed, then I might understand. That, however, is not possible. So I guess I'll have to look some place else. I hope you don't mind this but I think it would go better if you just slowed down a bit.

That depends on the amount of detail of your ASN settings (number of cloud layers displayed, level of depiction of storms, etc) and the quality of your cloud / sky textures (are you using default or REX Textures and what scale 1024/2048/4096, etc)

Mate, would you have a clue what I'm doing wring, I have Fsx Steam, I have downloaded ASN for steam and I run it as admin and it has an XML error and I have followed recommended steps to fixing this problem yet it continues and as soon as I run the sim ASN itself crashes the sim and itself with it. I have no idea what to do...
