Not sure why you said "sorry to say that you'd choose this? Who are you apologizing to, the hyundai fanatics?? Man just speak your truth and stop catering. This is a great car to enjoy right now and will be worth much more than all it's competitors when one get ready to trade up.

Thanks for your feedback and support. Basically before renting RX 500h I was almost certain that RX350h would be all you really need as it is pretty decent car with great fuel savings, but really after spending time with RX500h I realized that Luxury feel that RX500h delivered was worth the extra $$$ And this is where I basically stated that I chose Luxury over budgeting as most people would probably do :)

Oh absolutely. If I consider RX - RX500h is the one I would get for sure. I think they did a fantastic job by enhancing Lexus experience with added power via electric motors/gas engine and traditional transmission for smooth shifts. CVT is not meant for Premium vehicles.

@@100miledrive from all the reviews that I’ve been reading and I test drove the RX 350 the RX 350 is OK but it lacks power and any type of speed getting the RX 500 is F sport performance and handling not going to turn your Lexus into a Porsche or a Maserati . Will do however the suspension will be much nicer I was actually pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the seats were because I always thought the one problem with sport is the seats are too firm but they’re actually nice I was also thinking about getting the sport sticker tag is $80,000 and you could get the RX 500 H 65,000 and if you want ML Audi and technology package; with some upgrades; you can still get it for 70(000 so the price point is nice. The more and more I think about it the more I’m leaning to the RX 500 HS sport at least it won’t make it your grandmother’s Lexus SUV and you get pretty good gas mileage too I get around 27 to 28 miles per gallon don’t have to put 91 high in 87 will do

@@100miledrive unfortunately that seems to be the going great I mean I’ve seen entry-level crossover SUVs like Chevy Traverse start at 58,000 the first thing I did was I set up my wife with the Acura RX now that she situated I’m gonna get my dream SUV definitely if you want to go with the Rx go with the 500 H you will be frustrated with the 350. I agree with you 100% prices are way too high there was actually an article the other day why middle-class families cannot afford new cars even regular ones not the luxury model it is what it is prices for cars and trucks have gone up in fact I was looking at buying the Lexus GX 550 I heard that there is a 25 to 30% markup on the price So if prices are expensive then you might as well just buy your car do the old three years used at 40% off the MSRP the reason why I’d like three years over four years is because your mileage is going to still be relatively low with four years your miles might be around 60,000 but you can get something under 45,000 miles I found a nice 2022 Lexus EX 500 H F sport for with 20,000 miles for $49000 I wanted to make an offer right there but someone already bought it i’m not going to rush it I can still keep my Toyota Camry with 100,000 miles for another one to two years which will give me time to save up the money I like to buy my cars in cash and full so I don’t have to make a payment so I might get less fancier car but avoid having the monthly payments looks like prices of cars and trucks are just expensive across the land so it is what it is did you know that if you wanted to get a Toyota Camry a fully loaded Toyota Camry cost more than $40,000 $42,000 before you could get a fully loaded Camry for 35,000 Even Camry’s and Accords cost $40,000 and about $30,000 for the base model that is not cheap.

I will be happy if I get 24+ mpg, more is a bonus. We don’t know yet, our is a week old and it is climbing. Wife drives it in normal mode, no hwy We will have to try eco once it gets to its max in Normal. This is still breaking in. This is a performance heavy vehicle, take that in consideration. It wants to go, it wants you to floor it. 😅

Thanks for your feedback. In my experience with few cars including my BMW mileage does improve over time as a car goes through a break-in period. Also to get close to 30 MPG will require more gentle driving :) I am sure RX 500h is capable of that. I shared in MPG video for my X3 M40i that I was able to get 32 mpg on the highway and I can get 24-25 in the city but still my average is 22 MPG because I enjoy driving this car in Sport mode more than Eco. So enjoy your new car and congrats.

Having the car for 24 hrs and doing a majority highway fuel efficiency test is highly misleading. I have a Lexus 500H and if i'm lucky I can get 24 MPG. About 40 mile commute per day and I drive it like a grandpa, 35 miles on flat highway and 5 miles on rural slight uphill/downhill terrain. Its important to note that getting even close to the claimed fuel efficiency you really have to live somewhere super flat and have a commute longer than 10 minutes. Having the car for a week and seeing the average throughout the week would actually be "real world MPG test".

Thanks for sharing. I am sure your comment will help out other people. I got RX 500h for 1 day to record dynamic drive videos as you can find 2 other videos on the channel. This was another video idea that came in my mind. Quite honestly I don't have ever a problem beating EPA figures in any car, as long as it is at least 25-30 miles trip and, yes it would have to be on the flat surface. My BMW X3 M40i got 32mpg in that same highway test. I also commute few times a week to work about 22 miles round trip and can get 28 mpg just fine in EcoPro mode in my BMW. It vastly depends on the area as you mentioned whether you have lots of hills, flats etc... Also I live near the highway. If you have 2-3 miles to reach the highway that will drastically change MPG figures for the highway, although in Hybrids city driving is more efficient. Also it is hard to really do a Real World MPG test that will work for everyone. Our driving styles are so different. Highway test is less dynamic, more stable, but city test would be even more skewed due to lots of lights, accelerations etc..

@@100miledrive Unless you fill the tank full, drive it, and then re-fill to full to determine how much gasoline has been used, your figures are not verifiable. You are relying on the car to tell you the mileage...may or may not be accurate.

@@carbuff1313 I understand your point, but basically what you are saying is that no gauges in the car could be trusted. is it also true then with speedometer, tire pressure, odometer? If that was the case with MPG figures then you could easily sue car manufacturer for FALSE ADVERTISEMENT.

@@100miledrive I have found many times that the computer calculations are not accurate...perhaps they are using algorithms or something to make estimates. It is easy enough to measure the gasoline actually used...surprised that one would not choose to use this method, if not just to verify the figures shown on the computer. Unless that is done, the information provided is really of little use.

That's not too bad mpg for a motorway only journey, however it wouldn't reflect real world driving which uses a mixture of rural, main, and motorway driving. I drive 300 miles per week in my rx 450h and average 34 mpg (UK) but if I reset my trip and do a 30 mile motorway journey I can get higher mpg. I've been looking for a video which shows real world mpg for the 500h as I'm interested in buying one, but your video still doesn't help. I'd be interested in seeing what the 500h averages over a 300+ drive using a variety of roads, ie real world ownership.

Hi there, thanks for the feedback. I only had limited time with the car which was 24 hours. This video just shows what it would be like on a regular commute to work and back. I think what you are looking for is someone actually owning a car and can share MPG figures from day to day driving which can include city as well or longer 100 miles + journeys. Also keep in mind that our drive styles are so different. If someone has more athletic/spirited driving style than yours then MPG figures will be drastically different even for a hybrid vehicle.

@@100miledrive Yes of course, different owners and driving styles will change mpg, my commute covers various road types so yes an owners review would be needed to get a better idea of real world fuel consumption, I've a feeling the 500h would average about 28-30mpg ish (UK) for me, which equates to just over 23-25mpg US.

@@andyburnett8012 Also not sure if you had a chance to actually experience the new RX500h. It is way different than RX 450h. I made videos on my channel about RX450h and RX500h recently. You can watch those. Also if you need more fuel efficient car, maybe you can look into RX 350h. Also pretty good car. RX 500h has much smoother and more premium power delivery and it makes it quite special and unique.

@andyburnett8012 on u turns the rear wheels turn 4 degrees. You get larger break calipers. Adaptive suspension, self parking, triple beam headlights, better looking grill, more premium wheels. Yep, RX500h is a true Lexus in my opinion as it does deliver on that premium driving experience. RX350h is what they call: "Expensive Toyota" as it is still decent but doesn't quite feel premium in terms of engine/pick up due to droning CVT transmission and slower 4 cylinder engine

@@100miledriveTrue lexus? Is the philosophy of lexus is not a Classic hybrid ? I agree that someone can prefer to hear the imitation of V6 in speakers but not for this price. Anyway differences between all rx models is about the engine or suspension, everythin else is the same. We canot say that 500h is more lexus, because this is not Classic hybrid. the decision to choose the trim of lexus depends on lifestyle and many factors. As a fun fact in Europe 500h cost 125.000$ and ultraluxury 350h ( here called Omotenashi) cost 95.000 $. Its still to much but if I go through i will choose 350h, the policy of car industry in EU go to electric cars, which i see on a petrol station. Sad im not living in States. Cheers

@@Spiritual_Brothers Thanks for your comment. My review of 500h was based on how it felt to drive and if you ever get a chance to test drive 500h - driving experience is elevated in 500h quite a bit more versus RX 350h which is droning old 4 cylinder hybrid system. Don't get me wrong RX350h still a really good car and I think it is a huge improvement over the older generation. Now the fact that Lexus RX 500h is that much more expensive compare to RX 350h especially in EU is another argument and I am also not quite sure whether I would pay so much. Here in the States they average around $70K for a fairly loaded one but I was offered to buy a Demo model for around $65K with few thousand miles on it. The reality of petrol cars is that they made them quite a bit more expensive with adjusted inflation and the trend is to buy an electric car.

Thanks for you answer. Understand your point of view. Yesterday I had the opportunity to drive both of the models and I can imagine that the highest trim which is 500h is the more polished of all RXes as long as the acceleration is your main goal in the car. Anyway.. You make me sad you can get a demo of 500h for 65k... is so cheap :) really, here in EU Its almost two times lower. If I live in states i will choose 500h for that price.
