Fuel injector replacement BMW 3 series

This is how I replaced two faulty fuel injectors on my BMW 3 series e92 320i M sport N43 engine. I am not a mechanic and take no responsibility for any damage caused or injury sustained by anyone attempting to carry out this procedure. I did not follow the official procedure properly and this video just illustrates how I carried out the procedure myself. Hopefully this will help anyone thinking of doing the job to identify the work that is required to change these injectors. Thanks for watching.

Can I get you to do mine as well lol What was the injectors index before you changed them. I got two index 11 dont know whether to change all 4 So they all index 11. Cheers for the video.

Thsnks for the kind feedback. At one stage I had to index 11 in there and then an 8 and a 7 or something like that. The two index 11 where in the same bank (I cant remember what they were now tho). It ran fine like that until one of the older injectors started giving me hassle. Basically I wasnt rid of the problems until I had 4 index 11 in there. I watched ebay for used ones and in the end got them cheap enough. I think going index 11 for all is the only real cure. Well so far so good for me.

do you know the size of the filter in this injector? Ten small mesh filters n46 engine

Did you have any problems with running different indexes together?

Not really. It was a right mix for a while and ran fine until the older injectors started playing up. I dont think it was the mix that caused me bother just the older injectors. I found nothing really cured it properly apart from going all index 11. Since then smooth running. I've noticed the gear stick sits still at idle too and it always vibrated a bit until it was all index 11.

replaced mine and vehicle doesnt stay on for more than 3 seconds and sputters out any ideas?

Im not sure what you mean by before, do you mean showing the misfire?

Yes, please if you have a video. The engine in my BMW is shaking and rattling when its hot. My problem is, I couldnt compare my engine problem to others. The car mechanicer said, this is an injector problem and have to change all of them. But, when the engine is cold or I use in "nonurban" terrority then it is smooth and strong. I do not understand it. If my injector is faulty, then why do not do it all time ? :(

I dont a have a video of that unfortunately but my engine was shaking also and had little power. The gear stick will shake quite a lot at idle and a yellow flashing emissions light will appear on the dash. If its misfiring when hot I would suspect the coil packs first. Has he ruled these out? Usually this engine misfires when cold if injectors are faulty. Mine misfires first thing in the morning when cold but runs fine when warm, to me this was classic faulty injector signs. You should read the engine codes to find out where the misfire is then move the coil packs around and read the codes again. If the misfire moves then it's most likely a coil pack. I would definitely rule these out before replacing all of the injectors.

It is a very important info to me, so thank you so much. I replaced 4 ig.coils, sparkplugs last year, but it couldnt help. My friend read my faultcodes 2 days ago and it was very interessting. The ECU stored VANOS SOLENOID problem many times. After cleared memory, it happened again and again. It is interessting because nobody told me when I were at garages. 4 different garages said other faultcodes.... I will try to clean it and I hope it helps :)

Oh sorry to hear ur having these problems. I'm not too sure what yo do with that issue. I know the n43 engine (if that's urs) is prone to all sorts of problems like low oil pressure, misfire, timing chain guide snap etc etc. I usually track down good used index 11 injectors from ebay at around £45 each when changing and its curved my problems both times. I never buy new injectors as they are £250 each plus vat in BMW. I hope ur faults stay away but if u do get yo the bottom of the problem let me know.
