Idk why but Shimmer has been my favourite song through thick and thin. I love it so much because it reminds me of the scariest and most thrilling time in my life. I was moving countries from Canada to Tanzania as a 17 year old. Everything I knew flipped on its head but for some reason I clung to this song. I still listen to it and it brings me so much nostalgia.

Which most people seem to think their entire career is "Glimmer" and "Hemmorage" and that's it. I never heard them on Pennsylvania radio in the 1990's or 2000's. I only heard some of the songs because a person online loved "Hemmorage" and I started looking for them online. Otherwise I wouldn't know that they existed.

Went to a music Festival here in the New Orleans area long ago. Brett was walking around in the crowd like he was just there to enjoy the music too. He was taking pictures and was super cool. Hour later played one really good show.

Brett’s dad helped me change my flat tire in Brownsville, Tn at the crack of dawn when I was a sophomore in college traveling from MTSU in Murfreesboro to Memphis. Super nice guy!!! Yep, was PanterA here. Seen Fuel open for SEVEDUST in Dallas, they drew the ladies, supermodel material. They were a great band. The brothers Abbott were in town saw them in the beer line at the Bronco Bowl. Dime rocking a BLS hat he was proud of. Good times. And yep, SEVENDUST were stellar. I bought Antimosity y and Something Like Human next day.

Fuel arrived to my live in a very strange way, but still very thankful to that. I live in Spain and here they are not known at all,. But somepoint in 2001, my uncles (that knew that I always wore band shirts), bought me a shirt during a trip in Germany as they didn't know what to buy me. It was a shirt from a band that I didn't know at all. On the back side there were faces from band members, and on the front side there was like an aluminum guy and it said "Something like human". I Napster them to listen what music do they play and they become one of my favourite bands during those high-school and first college years.

Story on Hemorrhage: Carl Bell explained on an episode of VH1 Storytellers in 2001 stating: "This is as deep as it goes, for me. When I was younger, my grandmother got cancer. By the time they found it, it was much too late. Instead of sitting in some hospital, she wanted to go home and be home. And my mother and my aunts and their husbands went to sit with her at home. A few months passed, and the cancer had spread, it had eaten up most of her body and all of her hope, and it was a bad time. One particular day was a really bad day for her. My mother was sitting with her that evening, and she turned to my mom, and said, 'How do you die?' It crushed my mom, and it's still crushing me."

My son went to a concert in Rolling Rock Pa. and one of the bands in the show was Fuel. MTV played part of the concert on their channel, and I couldn't believe how great they sounded. From the lead singer's voice to the guitars, I couldn't get the song out of my head! I looked them up on Google and ordered the CD the next day. Every song on that album is great! Still play it a lot! Something like Human is one of my favorite CDs to this day!

My wife and I saw Fuel with Oleander and Three Doors Down in 2000. As we walked into the arena, she asked if I wanted to pick up a couple of beers, and I specifically remember saying, “That’s OK. Let’s get a good spot near the stage for Oleander and, if Fuel sucks, I can grab drinks then.” I have no idea what I was thinking, because they absolutely stole the entire show, making Oleander look like a garage band and Three Doors Down flat out boring by comparison. I doubt they had enough material, but if they could’ve played the entire night, I would’ve gladly stayed until the end. As it was, we left about 30 minutes into Three Doors Down’s 90-minute set and picked up “Something Like Human” on the way home.

As big a role as Hetfield’s voice plays in Metallica’s sound, I wouldn’t say his voice IS Metallica. His riffing is often overlooked or just credited to Kirk. Not to mention his palm muted chugging which sounds like the most basic of things, but Metallica really put palm muted chugging (end of Seek and Destroy, breakdown riff in Creeping Death) on the map.

I first saw Fuel right after they moved to PA, I went to see A LOT of bands back in the day and they were one of the few that, immediately struck me as having the "it" factor. Chatted with Carl quite often back then, didn't see them after their last show as an unsigned band though.

Keeping up with the line-up changes since the Angels & Devils album is kinda impossible now. It really seems like Brett and the rest of the original band can't stand each other and there is some legal catfight for the name Fuel. At least there is a new record coming, I'll check that out! All albums had some tracks on them I liked, Natural Selection is my favorite.

They were at carolina rebellion in 2013 or '14..they did a signing and got to meet them, super nice dudes..lead singer still fiiine as hell too

I went with some friends to watch them put on a free show in a cd store in Harrisburg the night they released sunburn. I was blown away with the show. And I will never forget how crazy it got when they played Mary pretends 🤘. Sad that their time together was so short.

Shimmer wasn't one that I had really heard when the album came out, but Hemorrhage was. Still a favorite song of mine to this day. Rather than Shimmer, the other song by them that was really played a ton on the radio where I'm from in 2000 was "Bad Day".

The first time I ever heard Fuel was in 98 or 99 at Guavaween in Ybor City Florida. I went with my best friend as a kind of welcome home after moving back from out of state. I heard Bittersweet for the first time and loved it. Bret has an amazing and unique voice. Told my best friend on the way home that I needed to get that CD just to hear that song again..He laughs and holds up a CD and says "This one?" He loaded it up and we jammed for an hour on the way home. Went the next day and bought it myself and have been a fan ever since. That whole era of music (late 90's - early 2000's) has a distinctive sound and I miss the feeling I had at that age and time listening to it. Now its nostalgia.

I saw these guys in Grand Junction, CO in 2000 at a venue that held around 2K people. Buckcherry opened for them. Amazing show, very high energy!!

I live in West Tennessee I live in the county that Kenton Tennessee is in. Jackson is 15 minutes from me and Brownsville where Brett was from is about 45 minutes from where I am. We have some very good local bands here.
