I'd honestly wish they don't up the megapixels on the x100. 16-24MP is a good sweet spot. The camera isn't purposed to high detailed shooting. It's more about a camera that can go with you everywhere and document life.
@lukasbenjamin_11 ай бұрын
While that’s true and I agree, at that point using one of the predecessors would be the better option I think. I heard from a lot of people that they really enjoy using the older x100 cameras because of the lower mp county. It apparently gives the image a certain flavour

People misunderstand the X-Pro3 backscreen. If you're already someone who only use the back screen on your camera for low angle shots, want it out of the way when you're not doing that (but would be nice with a little X-H1 style information) then that is what it provides. Switching the camera in a low shot ”mode” so to speak and back is extremely fast, much faster than any other camera in existence. Sure, you can use the display button to hide the screen when you don't want to use it, but it's slow (have to click many times) and error prone (you often overshoot). Simply opening the X-Pro3 screen for when you're doing the low angle shot is so damn fast. The hinge mechanism is much simpler, and much faster, you pull it out in a single motion. I'd be very saddened if Fuji went away from that concept as it's extremely efficient. Sure I suppose X-T4 style screen can provide it by mechanically hiding the screen, but that mechanism is extremely slow in comparison (not to mention more clunky). I know why people misunderstand this though. X-Pro3 is a camera for two people: documentarians/streetphotogs and those who want this retro luxury experience. Fuji's markerting leaned way to heavily into that retro stuff, making everybody mistake this efficient design for a gimmick. If the X-Pro4 loose the back screen I'll hold on to my existing ones for dear life. Thanks for making the video, even though I hope you're wrong on this one. Oh and one more thing: my big thing here is the effiiency of pulling down the screen and turning it on, and then off and putting it in. *Not* that it's hidden. A satisfactory solution for me would be to have an X100V style screen, have a menu setting and a sensor such that the screen *only turned on while it was flipped down*, that way I would achieve a similarly efficent work flow.
@lukasbenjamin_ Жыл бұрын
I’ve never thought about the screen like that, but I assume you’re right, it is very efficient to use it like that. Though I don’t think fujifilm intended for it to be efficient in that way but that it is a byproduct of this ‚retro-gimmick‘ of a hidden screen. Do you shoot mostly landscape orientation? Because for portrait orientation low shots this screen would be useless I think. I do think what fujifilm tried here is a very daring move that got a niche group fall in love with this camera, which is a great thing. Unfortunately there are a lot of XPro shooters that were left on the sidelines with this. It is a camera that I’d really like to shoot with, but not as a main camera, but rather as a second travel camera.
@torb-no Жыл бұрын
@@lukasbenjamin_ As many documentarians do, I shoot almost everything in landscape orientation. I find it to be pretty much the perfect event camera. That said, as long as I get to keep the big OVF of the X-Pro3 (or bigger even maybe!) it's still a great X-Pro camera in my eyes.
@lukasbenjamin_ Жыл бұрын
@@torb-no then that works perfect for you. Lets see what they have done once the camera came out. I’m very curious about it.
@ji-ming11 ай бұрын
I agree with pretty much everything you said, I don't think Fujifilm makes retro cameras for the sake of being retro, they target a specific target audience and I don't think the people who complain about the screen are in that target audience, or at least not completely. You could argue that the screen makes it more niche, sure, but I don't think there is anything wrong with that and I think going back to the old style or the X-T5 style screen would be a downgrade.

I have been waiting for the X Pro4 for a while now, i just hope it's not too expensive, if it is then i will have to look at the XT5. I don't like how Fuji downgraded the XT5, poor build quality for example, it sends the wrong message to the consumer if you ask me. I heard someone else say the X100R will have a 27mm lens, that would be a good focal lenght. The return of the D pad is also welcome. Maybe we will not see an XE5 in the future, Fuji doesn't seem keen on talking about it.
@lukasbenjamin_ Жыл бұрын
Yea I’ve heard they downgraded the build quality of the xt5 in comparison to the xt4, it’s a shame I think, i assume it’s because they want to have the xh line as their pro line. Kind of sends the wrong message I think. Just to clarify, I said I think they will keep the 23mm focal length on the next x100 camera, though I agree, the 27mm focal length is more versatile I think. Let’s see about the xe5, I could imagine a new one will come out at the end of 2024 though. Regarding the price of the xpro4, I assume they will price it similar to the xt5.
@torb-no Жыл бұрын
@@lukasbenjamin_Yeah it's unfortunate, though I suppose it depends on what you think is good enough. I've heard people say similar things about the X-T4 and that the X-T3 was the last X-T of high build quality. Personally I have to say that the way things are going with a lot of Fuji retro (they seeming to not care less about it, having those models be lower end if they exist at all) has made me take a hard look at the Nikon Zf. No AF lenses with aperture rings though, but I could see Sigma i-Series lenses fixing that problem.
@lukasbenjamin_ Жыл бұрын
@@torb-no I think the main ‚downgrade‘ in quality from the xt3 to xt4 was that they changed the side access to the aux port and so on from a fixed ‚door‘ to flimsy feeling covers that are connected through a rubber dongle. I haven’t had problems with this design so far and it can be a benefit when connecting bigger cables. The Nikon zF does look incredible, but the lenses are the problem. As well that the lenses will likely be way bigger than anything you’d have for the x system, just because it’s FF.
@torb-no Жыл бұрын
@@lukasbenjamin_ Agree re lenses and Zf. As for rubber ports, I think people wrongly malign them for being lower quality. I had the misfortunte of dropping my X-Pro3 to pavement and it damaged the (non-rubber) SD-card door. If that would have been made of that rubbe thing it probably would have been fine. Sometimes softer things are more robust as it can absorb shock better.

I mean their flagship rn is the xh2 and xh2s both with a proper grip. I doubt they would put a bigger grip than there is currently on the xt cameras, as they are a huge hit with their fanbase. What I do is I use my L bracket for my xt4 when I need a bigger grip in case I use a big lens.

Fuji really need to recive and release the X-A /X-M line just one of them and one body use maybe the xtrans 3 sensor and a combine with one of the XC lenses to make a sub 500 kit in the cheapest configeration upto just under 700 with maybe a two lens kit. As used Fuji cameras are now quite dear for what they are and their age a true budget entry level is needed to help bring new photographers to Fuji. If they dont it at min will never grow as a brand and at worst it will see a slow decline to death of its system. They have incredible cameras a d lenses but no budget entry point less tahn at least 1000 they really need a sub 500 entry point. Their main rivals have entry points lower than Fuji but also benefit from a strong budget secondhand market which could see a new photographer enter their system for less than 200 to 300 with a decent used body and lens combo. If Fuji had a sensible entry price that was friendly to new photograpehers it would help surpress the vastly inflated prices of their used X-A, X-M and X-E models as at present the. Cheapest used models are the original X-T1 and the X-100 line ups. As food as the original X-T1 is for a new photographer who most just want to pick the camera up turn on and press the shutter is is far too much with way too many features to overwhelm a new photographer. If they re-introduce one of these lines ( my opinion is the X-A line ) they could aim it as a vloggers camera. Tilt, twist screen solve any potential over heating issues and at least 40min or longer record in 1080. I don't think at the price point 4k is even remotely possible and could pull sales from the mid to higher end models but maybe 2k could be viable. Even the older X-Trans II would be fine at 16 megapixel but use an upgraded and tweeked firmware. 16 mp is more than good enough tpreally for an entry model and they have already developed and recouped the development costs for this sensor. With the knowledge they have from much newer models a few rweeks to firmware should not be hard to do either.
@lukasbenjamin_11 ай бұрын
In principle I agree with your point, especially as the used models are quite expensive nowadays. There are still some models that you can get in a good condition for 500-600 which would be my recommendation for anyone wanting to enter the Fujifilm x system. As far as I’ve heard and understood, the x-a and x-m line will not receive new iterations. But the xe line might, as this camera is basically to the xpro3 what the xt30 is to the xt5. Let’s see what path Fuji wants to go down, but personally I’d always recommend getting a used camera to start out instead of a new one.

@@lukasbenjamin_ but 500 used is expensive when you can buy another make ie Sony or Panasonic for around 200 with a basic kit lens. This is why Fuji must have a budget model without it that helps inflate prices add in the supply issue and used can end up more expensive than new
