I think people misunderstand what being a single parent means. It means your raising your child alone w/o the other parent. You’re not a single parent just because you and the mom/dad aren’t in a relationship. My sons dad and I aren’t together but I don’t consider myself a single mom because he comes thru for our son financially and physically. I also think it’s unfair to not allow that parent (dad) to be in his kids life just because y’all aren’t together

@@HomeEduSchool it’s definitely not the same thing. If you’re raising your child alone without the other parent, you are a single parent. Single parent as in 1 parent, not your relationship status. If both mom and dad are involved in the child’s life but aren’t together, they are co-parenting. Saying you’re a single parent when the other parent is active in the child’s life, discredits the role that the other parent plays in their child’s life. It’s disrespectful. A parent with a relationship status of single does not make you a single parent, it’s just a relationship status.

By choice means from the beginning deciding to go motherhood alone, not having things fall apart with your baby daddy and him leaving you to raise your kids alone 🙄. The relationship was evidently falling apart and the kids were a last attempt to keep it from crumbling… I vehemently disagree with women bringing children into the world with men that arent going to be around. It’s the delusion for me, still a baby mama and continuing the cycle started by her own mother. I hope the absolute best for her daughters and that they don’t go down this same road.

I was a fan of amara it just doesn't make sense to me the way she opened up about not growing up with her father and crying out for him on the show and being angry etc. Then to turn around and give your child the same experience. She made a choice to get pregnant by a man that didn't make her a priority if he did he would have married her first. I just don't know why she didn't decide to break the cycle

@@sammierose1150 This is more anecdotal than scientific, but a belief has taken root in parts of the "black community" (to the extent that there's such a thing) that our women tend to fall in love not with the person they see, but with the person of their dreams (or fantasies). And so if the partner fails to live up to those dreams/fantasies, nothing can save the relationship. Whether this is the case here, I can't tell, but it's an article of faith among many of my fellow black men.

If the relationship is toxic move on and allow the children's to have access to their father and not deny them of that because you all are not together. If he choose to be in their life support it .If not make him pay and move on.
