Guys this again was great, lovely weather to start, just a shame it ended wet. Always so watchable inspiring us to get back out even though we just got ball from camping a few days ago ! Wow that spitfire was unique to have in a front garden 😃 Love that someone built the bench and out it there for your lunch, a perfect spot and view. So handy to have the big white markers, really important to see the way. Shame about the hidden bog, have to be soo careful in that, we have had scary incidents... It looked so peaceful as you walked along that forest path until those fast cars came along ! We always say that sheep are good to see when in the country. Loved your camp spot , the sleeping bags sound nice and light and Dougal was already asleep after a long day! Water shoes are a great idea to give your feet a break and breathe and I liked that titanium pot, been thinking of getting one ourselves. Ooo dinner looked good, like Pete said bushcraft cooking 😃 That looked great though hard and another day done, really enjoyed that. Hope the weather was better the next day 🙂👍~ Anna

Hi Anna, The spitfire is amazing isn't it! We visit it every time we are in Moffat! We think this was our favourite day on trail, the weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! We love seeing the sheep when we are out and about too, they are so comical 🐑😊. That bench was a very welcome sight for a spot of lunch 😋. And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. We can recommend the titanium pot👍. And our camp meals were delicious 😋. We sat there for a couple of hours looking into the dark woodland trying to see if we could spot anything, but not this time. Glad we rested our feet in the water shoes, as It turned out to be a bit of an epic day the following day 😂🙈. Stay tuned to find out next week! Thanks so much for watching, and for your lovely comments as always, it is really appreciated. Have a fabulous weekend, We hope you are off on your camping adventures again soon!🤞 Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

Ah thank you Ervin, We are very pleased with our new logo too, it was designed and created for us by a talented young lady named Cait Bell. I will be sharing her details in a community post shortly 🤩🙌. The meadows with the thousands of yellow buttercups were a joy to walk through 🌼🌿. We think this was our favourite day on trail. The woodland camp was just magical! Thank you so much for your kind comments, we really appreciate them 😊👊. Have a wonderful weekend, Shell and Pete0😊👊👍

Brilliant leg Pete from the spitfire in the garden 😮 to the perfect camp pitch ⛺️wow what a great hike (signage definitely looked good ) bad missing signs can really spoil a walk there mixed territory But a great day 🤠👌🏻 Best wishes to Shell 👍 Simon 🤠👍🏔️

Hi Simon 😊 👋, The spitfire is amazing isn't it! We visit it every time we are in Moffat! We think this was our favourite day on trail, the weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. The signage really was excellent, we believe the way isn't maintained these days and has become quite overgrown in places, but we still had no problems navigating it as the signs were so good throughout👍. It turned out to be a bit of an epic day the following day 😂🙈. Stay tuned to find out next week! Thanks so much for watching, and for your lovely comments as always, it is really appreciated. Have a fabulous weekend, Pete and Shell😊👊👍

Much better weather but I suppose the trade off was the bigger, heavier packs and as far as gardens ornaments go that spitfire would be hard to beat! Nice to find a bench with a view like that and shame there was not another one for your lunch stop but the views were just as good. That looked like a great little camping spot to me, plenty of shelter and it was like watching MasterChef with that evening cooking. Looks like you hit the sack just in time, nothing worse than wet clothes, especially in a tent, cheers Alan

We think this was our favourite day on trail, the weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! We do love a good bench, like your good self and Mrs metalman 😊👌. And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. Hey both, ah yes, the devil’s beef tub, forgot about that 😂. Looking forward to day 2! Blimey, they’re big packs!! Wow, the spitfire is very cool, the most interesting thing we have in a garden near us is a full size plastic Elvis 😂. That looks beautiful, so far, fairly flat, yep, we’re good so far!!! And now the climb….stunning though, ah, a well timed bench. The posts are a great idea, the amount of times we’ve wandered off a track. Now we’re talking, food time with dougal!! How many miles already?? I reckon we could do this one so far but not with those packs!! I’d run across that road, never mind jog with those overtaking idiots!! Lovely camping spot, love that quiet section. £2.99 water shoes, very cool, we have something similar! Food looks great, don’t forget to add the cheese! Well done for day 2. We really enjoyed that. When are you off to Kefalonia? You will have the best time!! Do you know of the story, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin? It’s a lovely book and film, set in Kefalonia. When you get back, we must make that drink happen at some point this year!!! Nice one guys x

Hey Rach and Wills, The spitfire is amazing isn't it! We visit it every time we are in Moffat! Us Brits do put strange things in our gardens don't we, a full size elvis is a new one on us, although we did see a life-size gorilla in a front garden in the lakes a few weeks ago 😂🦍. We think this was our favourite day on trail, the weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! Dougal enjoyed it even more as he was carried the whole way 😂🐏👌. That bench was a very welcome sight for a spot of lunch 😋. And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. And our camp meals were delicious 😋. Glad we rested our feet in the water shoes, as It turned out to be a bit of an epic day the following day 😂🙈. Stay tuned to find out next week! We are off to Kefalonia next month, hopefully when it isn't so hot over there so we can explore, soo excited! 🤩. We keep saying we must watch Captain Corelli's Mandolin before we go, it is supposed to be a brilliant film and will be fun to see the beautiful Kefalonia too! Ah we must sort out a meet up this year guys! Would-be so good to meet you two lovely humans 😊🍻. Thanks so much for watching, and for your lovely comments as always, it is really appreciated. We hope you are having a fabulous weekend, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

Hi Shell, Hi Pete, what a wonderful looking trail. It reminds me very much of day 5 on the Cumbria Way. A lovely stroll through rolling countryside. Those Wayfarer meals are really nice. I had the chicken curry one on my camp on Tuesday evening, absolutely loved it and the bonus is the water then doubles up to make a brew! Haha Loved watching your adventure, keep it up Have a great weekdnd all the best Dave

Hi Dave, Ah we did the brew trick with the camp meal water too, waste not want not 😂👍☕️. We think this was our favourite day on trail. The weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows and then through the forests was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! 😊. The camp in the woodland wag also pretty special. The Cumbria way is still on to do list, it looks amazing! We are working our way up to that 😂🤞. Thanks very much for watching and your great comments. Have a brilliant weekend, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

Wonderful again I cannot believe that someone has a full sized replica Spitfire in their front garden!! 😍 The views from that bench. Awesome! 😍 What a lunch stop - love it how you’re trekking with your lightweight chairs. How cool is that! Beautiful woodland - and great place for a pitch! Good that the rain didn’t hit before you pitched. Can’t beat a square of cheese Jamie Oliver style 😃 I bet there was a load of wildlife around you in the night there. Another good day guys. Hope that weather isn’t too bad the next day. 😨 Another great and fascinating vlog you two. 👍

Hi Dave and Sue 😊👋, The spitfire is amazing isn't it! We visit it every time we are in Moffat, as you know we love them as much as you guys do 🛩❤. We think this was our favourite day on trail, the weather was finally kind to us, and walking through those buttercup meadows was a joy, even with the heavy packs on! We love our chairs! Worth the weight to carry them, to be able to have a proper sit down with back support at camp. And what a camp it was, that pitch in the woodland was just magical. We sat there for a couple of hours looking into the dark woodland trying to see if we could spot anything, but not this time. We bet if we had had a trail cam it would have picked up lots of wildlife for sure 🤩. It turned out to be a bit of an epic day the following day 😂🙈. Stay tuned to find out next week! Thanks so much for watching, and for your lovely comments as always guys, it is really appreciated. Have a fabulous weekend, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

What do your packs weigh? You guys must be in great shape!
@o.bsoutdoors38714 ай бұрын
Ah thanks Ken, we try our best to stay fit and healthy 😊. Pete's pack weighed in at 18kg so around 40lbs, and mine was 15kg so around 34lbs. Carrying most of the weight around the hip belt helped a lot, although we ached for days after the hike, so perhaps we aren't that fit after all😂🙈. Thanks so much for watching and for your great comments. All the best, Shell and Pete 😊👊👍

Do you have to get city or town approval to put a Spitfire on your front lawn? 🤣😂
@o.bsoutdoors38714 ай бұрын
Hahaha, we don't think you do!😂. Guess it is just classed as a huge garden ornament🙈. Us Brits do put some strange things in our gardens. We were walking in the lake district last year and walked by a house with a life size gorilla ornament in their garden!😂🦍

You guys have been all over. Have you ever found a body?
@o.bsoutdoors38714 ай бұрын
Hi Ken, Can't say we have ever found a body😂. But we have come across quite a few deceased animals on trail, lots of sheep, once saw a decreased owl which was upsetting. The strangest thing we have ever happened upon was what looked like some kind of pagan alter in the woods, with lots of skull ornaments placed on it. We didn't hang around long enough to film it!😱
