Don't get me wrong, I love Jeff and everything about him, and all he does, the guy is a genius. The Traveling Wilburys was just pure inspiration. But what Bev did with these guys for ELO Part II was pure genius in itself. Jeff may have wanted to stop ELO, (producing and touring), but Bev didn't, and he had an equal say in what direction this band went through. He even could have carried on with the name ELO, but out of respect for his friend jeff, re-branded it. So many good artists from this line up sadly no longer with us though, Kelly G, Hugh M, Pete H and Louis C. RIP you awesome musicians, we will never forget you guys!

I was there. Was almost in tears at the end of Honest Men as the rock/orchestra integration simply blew me away, with the mso playing the fade out on that track. It’s a pity Jeff never did this himself, The Hyde park gig carries a mini orchestra.

Lets get this into proportion, in 1986 Jeff Lynne was tired with the ELO project, so he disbanded it and became a Traveling Wilbury for three years and a couple of albums. Then for ten years Lynne wrote songs and produced for other musical acts. During this time Lynne's ex-band mates were touring as "ELO Part II" under Bevan's leadership, keeping Lynne's music alive in Concert Halls and Stadiums around the globe, as well as throwing in some of there own compositions for good measure. In 2001 Lynne released a solo album with guest musicians, he called the album "Zoom" and claimed it was by Electric Light Orchestra. A World Tour was planned to promote "Zoom", it was quickly cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Where were all you Jeff Lynne supporters in 2001? You certainly weren't buying tickets to see your beloved Mr Lynne in concert. Meanwhile "The Orchestra" were carrying on were ELO Part II left off touring the world and playing to millions of fans of ELO's music. The first time I saw ELO live was in February 1975 at Leeds University, my ticket cost £2, the cheapest tickets for a recent concert in Leeds by "Jeff Lynne's ELO" was £125. The last time I saw "The Orchestra" it cost £32. I've seen Roy Wood's Rock & Roll band at the Picturedrome in Holmfirth from 2010 - 2016, every time the tickets were £20. I'll be seeing Woody & Co next week in Halifax for £34. Mr Lynne has priced himself out of the market for me and I'll never go to one of his concerts again.

My summer job from Uni in '76 was as a roadie for the ELO tour before they hit the really big time. Got to know the original members, and I have to say I saw this concert in '91 in Manchester and it was fabulous. The original stuff from ELOII and Orkestra (underpinned by Louis Clark) is very underrated, as is Kelly Grocutt's solo work.

Songs are great. Jeff didn't want to work with these guys anymore. Yes, Jeff is great, but really enjoyed the studio albums part 2 did as well as the live releases. Look at the Jeff Lynne 2014 version. That's not ELO either. He has so many "extra" musicians, back up singers,etc... and his voice, like Elton, Paul, etc... is not the same. This is a big production, but go back and listen to the touring version of Part 2, and the Orkestra, and you may appreciate the other ELO members a little more. Or even go back and look at what Jeff wrote on the liner notes for the first "greatest hits" about the other member of ELO as well as L. Clarke . These are guys trying to make a living off songs they recorded originally as well as 5 "new" Part 2 songs. I love ELO,ELO Part 2,and Orkestra !!!!! I think the light dimmed for me when Kelly died. Like it all people . No need to be uncivil over some silly songs. Sit back ,enjoy, or go listen to something else.

+Tony Kitchen Probably needs to be remastered. But since it is called Electric Light Orchestra Part II, with emphesis on "Electric Light Orchestra", it probably falls on Jeff Lynne to re-release it and I don't think he will. A real shame he had a less than amicable break with this group of the Former ELO members(Kelly Groucutt, Mik Kaminski, Bev Bevan, Louis Clark).

Thank you for posting this concert. I have just enjoyed the last hour and a half so much ! I should have gone to this concert, but due to a buggered up back operation in the March of 1991, I was still in hospital :-( However, my brill sister managed to get me (through a distant connection between her and Neil Lockwood) a signed 12"copy of 'Honest Men' Not only signed by everyone you see on stage in this concert, but also they had written their best wishes for my recovery on the sleeve. How wonderful a tonic is that. I did finally manage to see them live the following year in Bristol of 1992 and met the guys backstage to thank them. A truly Great band !!

In a time, when music was for the most part four chords and a bridge, the Electric Light Orchestra crafted some of the most brilliantly devised and constructed compositions comparable to any works created by the like of Beethoven, Chopin, and their ilk! Agree with Tony Kitchen, the audio does not do justice to the experience in the audience. It needs some significant mixing and tweaking (the audience noise is suspect - sounds american)22nd May 1991 I was centre stage sweet spot. Fantastic sound, relentless melodies, phenomenal energy - and then the Moscow Orchestra. Words do not express how brilliant this was I left with a full heart and tears of happiness. Don't sully ELO2 and this presentation with Jeff Lynne's name for the moment - they were brilliant and deserve plaudits. NB Tabloids were full of stories of Moscow Orchestra players busking on London Streets because they were so poor.

Some of ELO Part 2's original stuff was good - especially Thousand Eyes, but what the band really achieved was taking the ELO hits out on the road and playing them really well, (you only have to see and hear the audience reaction to appreciate how well they and the Moscow Symphony Orchestra did it), which kept those tunes in the public eye and ear. The winner was Jeff Lynne as his tunes got continued exposure. It's such a shame that the rift between Jeff Lynne and those ex ELO members who embarked on Part 2 seems beyond resolution. We have now lost Kelly, Hugh and Richard from the classic ELO 7. Lou Clark is gone too. Time is running out for a reconciliation. No one lives forever. I live in hope of Jeff picking up the phone to Bev and putting past disagreements behind them both. Highly unlikely. But you never know.

ELO 2 live surpassed the Lynne era, I had the privilege of seeing them many times, those that think Lynne was be all to end all live with their butts up the rear, he despised ELO 2 that is why he paid mega bucks to Bev Bevan for the 50% Bev owned in the title to ELO. If Lynne is so great why did every serving members of ELO snubbed him at the Hall of Fame induction? Basically because he is a dick with a big ego, he was nothing before he barged into the Move, then shoved Roy Wood out of ELO, without a team effort ELO would not have evolved, how people can be so deluded that Lynne was ELO makes me vomit, but then that is the world of ignorance, media and plain old bull*#~t.

Pasable.
