FULL CUSTOM 3 INCH HILUX SURF EXHAUST BUILD (WITH CUT OUT VALVE!)

So after buying this car super cheap, there were lots of things to be done to get this thing reliable and up to a decent standard... One of which was the exhaust... Meaning the factory pee shooter was ditched STAT and I got cracking on a full custom 3" turbo back exhaust with a nice little cut-out valve too!

@@boostedbuiltgarage how do you know what diameter pipes to use throughout the exhuast? Do u have a software program that works it out based on engine specs?

Just experience and there are loose rules of thumb. Turbo, you ideally want minimum 3", turbos aren't affected by pipe diameter. Where as if you had a low power NA car and went 3" you'd loose some bottom end power etc

Thanks mate. Yeah they are the fxds, they looked great but didn't last very long and were a bit uncomfortable. Steel blue are the best I've used and I think I've almost tried them all

how much did the exhaust system end up costing you total/ what welder and method did you use? Also, you seem to have a pretty sick lifestyle what do you do for a living?

Can't remember was so long ago but probably at least 4-500 in materials. It was all Tig welded. Haha must look better than it is, I'm a builder/carpenter by trade

I'm not sure what dose you're talking about? The car doesn't dose unfortunately lol was hoping it would. But if you want dose, you need no bov and a certain shape/length of turbo intake pipe for the surge to reverberate back through
