question: doesn't tea have caffeine ... and why is it okay to drink tea but not coffee?

this is something I've been confused about too! Tea does have caffeine but from my research and what my naturopath said, the caffeine in tea isn't the same and your liver processes it differently so it doesn't have the same inflammatory affects. But this could just be more specific to my body based on my naturopaths feedback. If you see a naturopath or functional doctor I would recommend checking with them!

tea has L-theanine which as Mary said, allows for the caffeine to be absorbed differently, it's actually soothing both mentally and physically and you don't really experience jitters like one does with coffee. It's also easier on your body because a lot of people get acid reflux from coffee or laxative-adjacent effects if you know what i mean.
