Thank you! I've been trying to be carnivore for at least 8 months -- not very successfully. It's just too restrictive. This video was exactly what I needed. Silly me, I needed a reminder that eating vegetables, olive oil, and even lupin pasta is okay. Immediately I felt relieved and went out and bought ingredients to make the chopped salad. I love your sense of humor and realness. Keeps me coming back.

Same, about the carnivore. For me it has been 3 months. My issue is I'm a gardener and I eat my vegetables from my garden and garden season's coming up in my region and this summer I will be eating my garden so I guess I'll be ketovore. One thing I do realize about being carnivore and not having all the inflammation or the pain I will not ever go back to processed foods. I will incorporate my veggies though and fruit.
@laurel16348 ай бұрын
@@mistyriennett5902 Agree about how carnivore makes me feel. I have more energy, my mood lifts, bloat goes away, all those great things. But meat and eggs all the time tastes "dark" to me so, adding a few tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, fresh herbs, green onions, etc "brightens" up flavor. Gardening is fun so it hard to give up fresh veggies.

Well, lifting weights 5 days a week is a big part of the reason you have slimmed down!! (So wonderful that you are addressing those older person problems BEFORE you get old!!!)
@SRose-vp6ew3 ай бұрын
It seems the observed general progression goes weight loss with keto, followed by muscle gain with upping the protein. Too much protein when you’re not working out will slow results, not upping the protein when you start to work out will slow the gains. Sometimes people think advice is contradictory, it’s not it’s just in its correct season and for the right audience. I noticed once I actually got into my perfect BMI I started to look scrawny on keto and I needed to add more protein, a tad more carbs(carb cycling with sweet potatoes, not M&Ms) and lifting weights.
@SRose-vp6ew3 ай бұрын
The advice for people not to take too much protein and make sure that they’re doing actual keto macros when they’re trying to just lose that weight and stay satiated still still stands. It literally depends on what part of the journey you’re on.

That whole putting the whole thing in there with the outer layer is just making more work for yourself. Just peel the garlic and sprinkle them in the dish and they will soften into a paste even faster and you won't have to pick 'garlic peel' out your dish. I lost 26 lbs in 5 months this way two years ago and have kept it off, mostly. I weigh 107 now at age 82 and 5 ft tall. I rarely feel cravings or even hungry when I stick to this diet plan. I have lots of chicken and fish and mostly sustainably raised, organic not processed foods. Very satisfying. p.s. I have very low self discipline, yet this works for me.

When I need roasted garlic whole in a dish, I prepare it first a little. Whack it root side down on the counter top to help loosen the cloves...if still too compact, whack the top part as well. The point is to loosen the cloves, not remove them...something I learned here in Spain. Microwave it in 30 sec increments until there is a little give when you squeeze the head of garlic...then add it to whatever for baking/roasting in the oven. BUT, be sure to drizzle a little olilve oil on the top as this will help it roast quicker and better. To get the cloves out, you could press the head between two smallish cutting boards and scrape up the pulp. I can handle a lot of heat and so can squeeze out by hand, but in a hurry, the two board trick is indeed quicker.

@goudagirl6095Ай бұрын
ok i'm making those egg bites RIGHT NOW! 👍 TIP FOR YOU FROM A GARLIC LOVER (seriously I eat it raw too). First you need a couple of items: A small oven safe Pyrex or other casserole type dish, no more than 6" across. If it has a cover, great, if not, aluminum foil works too. I typically find these dishes in my local thrift store, like Goodwill, Salvation Army, or St. Vincent de Paul. Some pre-peeled garlic, usually comes in little bags in the deli area. Alternatively, your local Asian store may have some too, they use lots of garlic in their dishes (and it may be cheaper). Pre-heat your oven to 400F. Dump the garlic into the dish; cover/almost cover with olive oil, or a mixture of EVOO and avocado oil. Sprinkle with salt. Cover and bake for at least 20 minutes or more, depending on doneness. Remove from oven, should be bubbing! Let cool for a bit, and you'll have the most amazing soft, sweet roasted garlic (and oil) that you can use in _everything:_ pasta, salads, eggs, sandwiches, veggies, etc. 👍

I am now plant based focusing more on fiber and my system is regular, I am less angry and no longer stress about food but rather love fruits, veggies, and I am not killing other beings to support my life. I no longer need to DIET at all. Lift weights, eat fresh Whole Foods and stop focusing on food. After all, being overweight and needing to diet is very much a privileged problem. IDK how long you've been on a plateau, but sometimes you just have to wait out your body. Take measurements all over... biceps, wrists, calves, thighs, waist, hips, neck, chest, etc. Literally anywhere you ca6put a tape, measure it weekly & note the #s. When I was stuck, my doc had me do that... I wasn't losing lbs on the scale, but my body was redefining itself, moving weight around, toning itself, & whatnot. According to my doc, it was also testing me to see if I would stick to my diet, as I'd dieted b4 without staying power (LOL). I'm not gonna lie & say it only took a month or two to start losing again, bc it took about 6,which was awful TBH... but once I started losing again, it was like in the beginning again 10#, 10#, 5#, etc I'd go by how you're feeling more than anything... do you feel good eating this way? Do you have more energy? Do you have less inflammation or symptoms of whatever? If so, maybe stay the course, bc the diet could be giving you more benefits than you can imagine... Do you have an accountability partner or friend who encourages you on your journey? My doc was mine, & I've found that makes all the difference in the world... this time, I'm doing it solo, it's 100% harder without having someone in your corner who not only keeps you honest, but encourages you when you're feeling frustrated.

I want some good recipes that can help me eat breakfast with protien, without eggs! Do you have any siggestions? I am in my early 50's, I only take one thyroidedication, and have no other known health issues. I have gained too much this past winter, and am craving only sugar. I think I will watch more of your videos! Thank You!
