Dont share your diet beliefs with a provider you dont have a relationship with. I just tell people that I eat unprocessed and no sugar foods. I had a doctor fuss at me for feeding my 9 yr old a good healthy diet. She was upset because he didnt eat bread or cereal.

Do not get upset. I have made it to 78 years old and I have been on Keto for one and a half years. I have been told I have had blood in my urine maybe 3 times or more in the last 25 or more years. I do not have any thing but a little high blood pressure that I take a low dose of med for it. Stress is worse for you than some diseases. Chill.

I’m so grateful for my doctor here in Mtn. City. He is all about Keto. He knows my family very well and has been with us through thick and thin. I question any doctor who would blame Keto for anything. I also agree how important having a family doctor is. If it wasn’t for the drive all the way here, I would totally recommend him to you. He’s amazing!

everyone i know that has had this surgery has had issues ... i'm glad i procrastinated & didn't get the surgery ... my doctor said that keto is not sustainable because of the high fat ... i got my blood work back 3 weeks ago after being keto since last november , my a1c (average sugar) went from 10.8 to 5.1 ... the rest of my blood work was the best it has been for many years ... my doctor was only able to say "hmmmmm" ... be careful with doctors that are prejudice against keto because they stop looking for the real problems that you may be having .... 😁✌🖖👌👍😎

I understand what you are saying. I've had dealings with kidney pain off and on all my adult life, lllooonggg before I went Keto. The last time (Jan 1 2015) I went to the er for kidney pain, it was because the pain was so sudden and so "loud" and sharp that it took me off my feet. I couldn't stand up straight for 20 min. It took me days to finally suck it up and go to the er because i knew good and well what the outcome would be. I was right. They ran a few tests, took my temp and told me "your tests are all normal. We are going to ASSUME you have a UTI and Kidney Stones". I told them I didn't have either. We know when we have a UTI. We KNOW when we have a kidney stone. I've heard what kidney stones are like and there is no mistaking that. It took me weeks to get the pain under control and NO kidney stone passed. In the past I fired a doctor because he wanted to do a pelvic exam for my kidney pain. I have been told "you're female, you're hormonal, just deal with it" so many times when I went in for something that had nothing to do with hormones and being female it just sends me reeling. I've given up on doctors and only go if it is truly an emergency. I'm so over the "how dare you question my diagnosis, I went to school for this" attitude. And arguing with them over my keto lifestyle isn't worth it. If I ever find a doctor in my area who is keto friendly and will LISTEN to me, I'll go back.

First - that quesadilla in a toaster is a brilliant idea. Second - I'm so sorry about all the medical issues. Over 10 years ago, I was really anemic and I remember one terrible blood test had my hemoglobin around 3.5 and I was told to go to hospital immediately for blood transfusions. I remember before I got the results that day I could barely lift my arms to wash my hair. I'm sorry you have to go through iron issues all the time.

Longtime kidney stone sufferer here. Also had a sleeve surgery in 2014. Calcium oxalate (which is in like every food) is usually the trigger of stones and the high protein is just hard for your kidneys to process. Blood in your urine is alarming. But in reference to the pain, the pain comes when the stone blocks Urine and it splashed back on your kidney. It can be floating around in there and not actively cause pain. Really up the fluid- stay away from caffeine. Lemonade, consequently, is a good thing to drink when you’ve got one. I hope you feel better- they really are the worst. And if you start vomiting and feel intense pain that mimics labor pain and you can’t get comfortable no matter what you try, PLEASE go to the ER.

Where I heard this from was a friend that had gastric bypass & her body wasn't absorbing nutrients properly & her bariatric specialist told her to take 2 Flinstone's with iron everyday. I hv fibromyalgia & have trouble absorbing nutrients due to IBSd...if I don't take Triphala supplement. Sooo basically I cannot live without Triphala (I use Planetary Herb brand) & Flinstone's w/ iron. I have to be sure I get plenty of water in to make sure they work properly & to make sure my digestive tract does it's proper biz. I am so sorry to hear about how negatively you reacted to gastric bypass. Even though it was elective surgery, you go in trusting that these procedures are safe. I am not sure if they told you the risks or not, it still upsets me that you had such a bad reaction. And then to pour salt on the wound, you have a doctor who thinks all your ills is due to keto!!! If your doctor can't support this vital and significant lifestyle choice, maybe you should find a doctor who will. Maybe a nutritionist. I love your accent, BTW. I'm from Brooklyn, but lived in Virginia for over 20 yrs and sure do miss the way they all talk.

Bless your heart. I know how you feel about the water leak. We brought a house that was built in the “40”. We brought it from my step brother. We fought for 7years with the sewer. Ever time I washed clothes it would back up into the bathroom. Thank God we had another bathroom to use. We finally found out that someone had use pvc pipes to try and unclog it and it broke off (25) feet of it. We got that fixed after fighting with it for four years ago. One year after we moved in we had the air conditioning on and water was all over the floor. ( next to the bathroom that was messed up. ) thought it was the bathroom but it was the ac. It leaked and didn’t know it. He had a 5 gallon bucket to catch it. It was full so we had to replace it. Like they say don’t do Business with family or friends. Praying all comes out great for y’all.

Preach on about gastric bypass. I just had to have my gall bladder removed 15 years post RNY gastric bypass. Surgeon told me approximately 70% of gastric bypass patients have gall bladder issues. And I have similar issues with vitamin levels.
@AlexKid987654 жыл бұрын
I had mine in 2001 and the surgeon recommended having the gall bladder removed since she had saw that trend also. I have really good vitamin levels so I take a pill pack it’s called complete with maximum essentials omega 3, from Andrew lessman and you can find it on HSN , not cheap but well worth it. Look at the reviews on it (mine is for women’s but I think they make one for men as well)

Kristi, I have been severely anemic for at least a decade. I’ve had blood transfusions, and iron infusions. I have not had a gastric bypass but I too don’t absorb iron and other nutrients well. Hey lady! I had gastric bypass in 2006 as well. I too have B12 and iron issues. I have also had iron infusions and blood transfusions in the past. Luckily, a daily iron supplement daily does control my iron problem. My B12 issues would be controlled better if I would take the time to get myself to the Dr’s office on a regular basis for the shot my Dr prescribed. Soooooo......this past week, after my lab work, she suggested I give myself the shots at home. I think that might be the answer for me! Like you, I don’t have time to run to the Dr all of the time. I totally feel your pain friend and have lived it! Hugs and prayers! We both know you will feel better when your iron is back up to a good level!! Make time for you! ❤️

I had Gastric bypass in 2005, 2013 I almost died to having ischemic bowel syndrome. I was in the hospital for 2 months, they removed 85% of my small intestines and 5% of my colon. I had to feed they PIC lines and multiple blood infusions as well. I weighed 350 and only went down to 265. It was hard to lose the rest of weight. But I did working out and watching my nutrition. But ever since my surgery in 2013 everything has gone down hill for me. I don't absorb either. No energy. But... can you believe I would have the bypass all over again 😳🙄😁 i know, i know lol. 🙃😉🥰

I don't like those walk-in clinics and have had similar problems with them. They always seem to recommend to go to the ER, why even go to them. Find a real doctor that you can trust! Drink water too, lol! 💕💕💕
