@CullanWiltshire
@CullanWiltshire 12 күн бұрын
It’s because Eddie is the antithesis of everything he stands for - not using privellege and other peoples work to build wealth and status whilst actively abiding by rules of society. Simon probably is jealous of the moment that Hearn is in, not just for the value of hearns business, but also off the back other when he picked it up when match room was already worth £150 mil. If you take this, combined with the fact he has actively lied to and manipulated the truth with Conor Benn - who STILL hasn’t proved his innocence - he comes across a talented, spoiled and selfish individual that sets one standard for everyone else and another for himself so that he can have success. Hearn, although very very good at his job, his a total slimeball.

The myth that Joshua quit was started by Tyson fury and people ran with it. Joshua was soundly beaten by Ruiz in the first fight, which is embarrassing enough, but he didn’t quit he tried to stall and buy time and the ref saw through it and stopped the fight. His reaction when it was stopped was one of disbelief as the golden boy of boxing he thought he’d be allowed to take the break. There was a stage in boxing where everything fury said became gospel when he’s actually one of boxings biggest liars.

Yes I agree. I think there’s a difference between taking an action that in and of itself is quitting - as in, taking a knee and not getting up etc. Rather than actions that people like to interpret as quitting and state it as fact. “He spat his gumshield out - clearly that means he wanted to quit!” yeah or perhaps he was just trying to buy time pal. If you are having to speculate or interpret it then you can’t state it with any degree of certainty. All we can say for certain is that the ref asked him if he wanted to continue on four occasions and Joshua said yes every time.

Gotta give AJ his credit for fighting anybody and everybody. Wilder and Fury didn't fight any of these young, dangerous, hungry lads. It fascinates me that Jordan thinks he go into these 'discussions' with Hearn on a level playing field. Jordan is a fan. Despite my thoughts of Jordan being a blow hard, I think he genuinely likes boxing. However, because Jordan has run a mobile phone company and a football club, he thinks he knows everything about every other business. He doesn't. And it always shows in these conversations. And when he is shown up in these conversations he then tries to make trvial points about what the word 'ecosystem' means. Nobody cares about who used the word ecosystem first on Talksport. Just one thing to pull up Hearn about. The idea that small-hall shows are seeing increases in attendances because of the interest at the top of the sport is ludicrous. Even Matchroom's 'big' domestic shows this year have failed to sell out. And it's really noticeable. I think it's going to get harder and harder for Hearn, Warren and Shalom to promote domestic shows at the O2, Copperbox, MEN, Echo Arena, Sheffield and sell nearly all of the tickets. Perhaps more eyes are drawn to the sport. But punters are not going to turn up at UK city events to watch 8 fights on a card where you are 95% certain who is going to win 7 of those fights. Boxing is not booming. Boxing is in trouble.

I agree with Simon…the promoters will not be needed..they’re only there due to the promotional rights they have with the fighters. Saudi could shut down promotional outlets overnight once they have the experience. Eddie will be on the Saudi payroll soon.

@@ldphoenix3 Well yes, but obviously not my point, which was to say it's a bit unfair to keep applying that label to that incident. I mean Connor McGregor could have hopped about on his non-broken leg and continued, right? Against Usyk though, that was such an odd, blatant quit that I wondered if he thought his orbital had gone again, just a thought.

How does Simon find it so hard to understand why promoters would still be needed?? Do you think Turki has any interest in building a fighter from amateurs and growing there profile, if Riyadh season only remains to force the super fights to happen then we are on to a winner.

This is a lose, lose situation for AJ. If Usyk wins the rematch against Fury and AJ beats Dubois, Usyk has said that he will give AJ a third fight. Usyk will obviously once again beat AJ in that third fight - despite what the deluded fan boys may believe - and he won’t be able to deal with another loss to Uysk and will be finished. And if Dubois were to beat AJ, he will also be a finished article.

People talking about Simon being bitter, and for sure, I think hes been bitter towards Eddie in almost every interview...but in this one I think its actually legitimate. Eddie Hearn's claim that him and Frank will be needed from the Saudi's is just pure delusional or denial. As Simon rightfully said, and its just the unfortunate way the world works, is that if you have the money, you will almost certainly have the resources to do exactly what Eddie and Frank are doing and theres no real reason for Turki to actually keep these guys with him, besides the fact that he has a good relationship with them (which he clearly does). However, if he wanted to, he could simply take Eddie and Franks whole stable of fighters from them in a heartbeat...you think fighters have this undying loyalty to their promoters? Lol, of course not...If you are risking your brains, you want to get the highest compensation, which Turki has infinite amounts of
