Today I actually have to say that if we can accept and allow a man to “identify” as a woman. Then I don’t think anyone should criticize Rachel Dolezal for “identifying” as a black. I think it was an issue because of her race and the history of black people. But woman also have strong history and a man shouldn’t be allowed to identify as one and not go through what we have to on a daily basis.
@gabyirigoyen28362 жыл бұрын
Totally unrelated. Gender is our internal sense of self, whether that be man, woman, neither or both. Unlike gender, race is physical traits that are socially constructed and understood. You can’t inherit your gender, this is internal and something individual to you but you do inherit the social construct of race. There is also much more to one’s racial identity than physical appearance , it’s also about culture, community, connection and even trauma. Someone cannot make themself more likely to experience the intergenerational health and economic impact of systemic racism simply by identifying as Black

Being black, white, yellow etc etc was made to categorize everyone as much as possible so they could be judged a certain way (mainly in the U.S). Go to other places in the world and ask them if they're white, they might not even understand the question. Also, to your point about it being "so much more" than appearance. The exact same could be said about being a man or a woman. A woman could never know what it's like to have testicular or prostate cancer the same way a man could never know what it's like to have a period. A woman will never know what it's like to be assumed to be a predator or someone with ill-intentions simply for being a man and so on and so forth.

They have a very huge misunderstanding on what an open relationship is and why people engage in them. It's not for everyone but also it's clear that they simply just don't understand it. Commitment is still there, boundaries are still there LOVE is still there. People don't engage in them because they don't want the other person. Not saying that never happened, but those who do it for that reason give open relationships a bad rep.

When you're REALLY in love, u should never want someone else :/
@selinacox24042 жыл бұрын
@@lindarodriguez8225 its not about wanting someone else. People in healthy ORs still experience the love your referring to. Their deep love for one another isn't centered around sex or possession of a partner. A lot goes into an OR. People know when they are really in love. Only the people experiencing the love know how real it is. It's not for you to decide the state of their experience just because its not the kind of relationship you understand, or the type of relationship for you.
@lindarodriguez82252 жыл бұрын
@@selinacox2404It's not possession of a partner at all. Being monogamous Is respect! Love is meant for 2 people not 3. Ever heard of the saying "if you're in love with 2 people at once, choose the 2nd one, because if u really were in love with the first, u wouldn't feel the need to fall in love with the 2nd?" if they really "know" when they're in love then they wouldn't feel the need to have an open relationship. I'm not trying to decide. Just expressing my opinion. Aren't I allowed to do that?
@selinacox24042 жыл бұрын
@Linda Rodriguez There is respect and boundaries in open relationships too. Sex and love are different things. And there are a lot of sayings out there, doesn't make them the default or the only correct option. Just because a saying exists, doesnt make it true or universal. But You did decide. You said that if you really love someone you wouldn't want an open relationship meaning you alluded to the idea that if anyone is in an OR, they don't truly love their partner. That may be true for someone in a monogamous relationships, but you can't take the constraints/boundaries of a monogamous relationship and apply them to an OR. You can'tt disrespect someone by having more then one sexual partner IF that value aligns with your current partner. You're taking ideology from monogomy and trying to apply it to ORs. Repect, boundaries, love all exist in healthy ORs is just not defined by holding one sexual partner. Again sex and love are not the same. In a monogamous relationship you set a boundary stating you are eachothers only partner. Therefore, having another would be disrespectful. However if two consenting adults agree that they are ok with having multiple partners that boundary isn't broken, therefore there was no disrespect made. However other boundaries can exist and if those boundaries are broken then that's disrespectful. Boundries in an OR are different depending on the type of OR and the people involved. But for example one boundry might be that the couple can have multiple sexual partners, but not with complete strangers. (Just an example). If a partner in that OR breaks that boundry, that disrespectful/cheating. There is ALOT of trust that is needed for ORs. You may not get it, and thats ok they just aren't for you, but that doesn't give you the right to say that they don't work, or the love really isn't there. It's there, it's just not for you. And that's ok.

people comparing her to trans people need to realize: for reasons we dont yet fully understand, during the pregnancy, the fetuses brain developed according to the opposite gender of the fetuses body. this happens because the brain develops in the earliest stages of pregnancy, and the outer sexual organs develop later. mri scans show that. and since you can change the body/appearance and cant change the brain, there is only one way to achieve an alignment of the brain structure and the body.
