if you are in the market for a new laptop I would recommend an ASUS due to how they are manufactured now compared to HP, Dell, Gateway, etc today. After struggeling with the official options provided by Acer (Press Alt-F10 on startup, wich did not work) - the SHIFT-Restart-thingy worked for me. Thanks mate!

When I hold shift & push restart, it doesn’t let me go further, it will load and then say “Your device ran into a problem and needs to restart.” It won’t let me factory reset my computer from my settings either

Well I did the shift restart Ok then I chose the troubleshoot option That brought me to Advanced options UEFI FIRMWARE SETTINGS STARTUP SETTINGS Went into them both and no reset option was available
