Hello again and welcome to another one of my video walks! Well unfortunately I did not notice I was recording in 1080p... But it is still full HD and I got some really good scenery in.
I always find cities and their downtown core at night so great to record. The life is so real. The sounds the sights the smells... My family had decided during our labour day weekend that we would visit our Provinces Capital! Edmonton Alberta. We stayed at the Chateau Lacombe.
The main reason to visit during labour day was to do some mall ratting at West Edmonton Mall one of the Largest malls in all of North America! Did some back to school shopping ate some good mall food and my kids and their grand dad hung out at the indoor theme park.
Thanks for watching my video. Until next time~!

Dear Bistro Praha! I grew up in Edmonton and left as soon as I could. Downtown feels emptier and more depressing than ever. In the midst of that sense of desolation, the Bistro Praha was always a welcoming oasis.

Ehh. I feel like Edmonton isn't a good place if you crave attention and need to be around people to feel good. Apart from that, Edmonton is actually booming. New businesses are popping up monthly. The food and bar scene is really doing well here and while the streets are empty the trending establishments are packed out.

Its awful how much this same beautiful landscape has changed in such a short period of time to become filled with such ugliness in the past few years. Now walking around in this city is very depressing seing the amount of people wandering around like zombies, passed out on sidewalks, standing hunched over like theyre trying to touch their toes. Hooded people with backpacks riding around on mountain bikes everywhere looking for their next potential thing to steal, place to shoot up or smoke their drugs, person to rob, etc. The streets in Edmonton have definitely turned into a very dark, dirty, depressing place these days and as someone who grew up in this city my entire life, its very sad. I really hope the people living here wake up and realize we need to make major changes in how we govern not only our city, but also this province and the rest of this country. I miss feeling proud of living in my city

Yes it is a sad state in most Canadian cities that there are parts where there are unsavory characters. But I have to say I wasn't at all fully worried about where I was walking considering this was at a time of night where most places in the world would have far worse things happening. I love Edmonton and Alberta and just this small snapshot shouldn't be a picture of what the whole city is! I am hoping to go back and shoot more walking videos in the city!

@@BriansRepublic Back in the 80's apparently the name was coined by the police due to the area being frequented by gay prostitutes, gay bashers and drugs. I did crazy and foolish things back in the day, walking through here at 02:00 was not one of them.

This is one of the downtowns. The more interesting downtown area is on Whyte Ave. You cross the river valley and hit the area where the colleges/universities are there. I always found 80ave downtown area to be quite boring.❤

That was the plan to head over to Whyte Ave. But it was super late The next time I am up I will make sure to get there! Which Street do you think I should start at?
@Acresofalchemy
@Acresofalchemy 2 ай бұрын
@BriansRepublic I'd say start at the bridge going over the river valley towards Whyte...then skip a few blocks and start right on Whyte Ave. Where there's a car dealership is kinda the start of the down town core coming from north and heading south. Also in that area is the bio domes. They are the pyramids and inside its 4 different climate zones to check out.
@Acresofalchemy

@BriansRepublic I used to bike 80kms around Edmonton for years when I worked in the army out there. I know some really awesome spots to check out...like if you take the river valley trail all the way to the Zoo, it's very scenic with trails over looking the river valley. When it flooded in 2011 the water was up to the bike paths if you can believe the river rose that high. But it did.

I go to Edmonton Stony Plain road every other day. It’s a street that is getting a facelift but it’s crawling with junkies and homeless people. Lazy Liberal and NDP policies have resulted in this. Businesses are moving out and new potential buyers of the properties see the junkies running free and they don’t want to buy the over inflated prices for these places so only the wealthy non Canadians can buy them and not gaf about the crime and junkies issues that come with that area. It’s one of five deplorable places in Edmonton

Edmonton is a great city and all the people who live there are amazing. I am hoping that this snap shot will help people get up off their butts and do something about what they see is wrong in their cities. Thanks for watching.
