If England were better, how did they not win the game?? They were given TWO PENALTIES. The difference is, most other massive teams lost to inferior sides. England managed to push back a superior side and dominate them in midfield and smother the majority of French attacks comfortably. France were constantly fouling in midfield and near/ around the box to prevent build up play out of desperation in defense. England were the only consistent threatening looking side and the deflected header goal was against the run of play, so they can be proud (for once) in losing a 50/50 game. Every pundit has acknowledged this, not just England media lol.
