The amount of knowledge I've gained from the vids and the podcast has massively impressed my future father in law. He's a canola, wheat and Elk farmer up in Manitoba, Canada and it's been a blast helping him out!!! Can't thank you guys enough!!!

Question: how come all the equipment seems brand new? is farming so good you can change your equipment quite often? does it reflect only your farm or all the midwest farms?
@jamesm89652 ай бұрын
A lot of sharing equipment between farms and leases. Everything stays in a machine shed and guys take really good care of thier equipment because you need it to last with the prices of equipment through the roof. If you know much about business sometimes you don’t want to show a profit and a section 179 deduction helps that and makes the job more enjoyable.

A multitude of factors. Some guys lease their equipment and there for tend to have newer equipment. And most of these guys take good care of their equipment so it looks new longer and lasts longer. And bigger farms tend to have newer equipment because of their resources. For instance I live in Indiana and my neighbors are smaller farmers who've been running the same equipment since the 80s, they only have a few hundred acres and they just don't want the newer stuff.

They've stated in a previous video they lose money grain farming. AFAIK, they custom hire the combining done. Most of my equipment is from the 1960's-90s. Livestock buildings are from about 1900-1965.
