Story seems well written more than most. I will tell a personal story, my last job I helped people get benefits from the government. I was doing a phone interview where I was getting the guy's info. You have to ask about ex-spouses because they are sometimes entitled to their previous spouse's money. The gentleman told me that his ex was now married to his brother. So these things do happen. Side note- people should never talk sh** about other people and then leave a paper/electronic trail.

The biggest mistake OP did was not ousting those shameless creatures... FIRST when they lied blatantly in facebook steering all of his friends and family away from him...
