BEST Stretches for Soccer Players - How To Stretch Properly to Increase Flexibility, Decrease Injuries and Feel Better!

I'm 67 and just started playing 'walking' (more like fast walking) football, fantastic, love it, surprisingly energetic (I last played football in 1970) but found I was a bit stiff afterwards. These exercises had the effect of immediately loosening me up and I feel so much more supple after just one session. Will be doing these regularly from now on. Thanks for posting.

My legs turned to jelly for 20 minutes 5 minutes after I dribbled extremely fast So stretching is very important

I heard from several people that you're NOT supposed to do Static Stretching before playing or training and you're supposed to do Dynamic stretches instead

Hi Muhammad, These stretches mostly focus on the lower body. So basketballers can absolutely use this routine as well... just incorporate some other upper body stretches at the end 😃

isnt static stretching before exercise not recommended? you should be doing dynamic stretches before exercise and static after right?

These are awesome..I am 59 years old however in my teenage years i played 4 years of Soccer I was also in gymnastics in my 40s i did 2 years of Martial arts ..Due to a family tragedy Losing my Veteran Son I gave up on myself 13 years ago i have started light stretches however i want to get back slowly now getting back active..I know muscle has memory and i would like to get back as much as possible my soccer legs lol i know flexability and strength are very important in the legs especially and as we get older our legs are very important to help with balance ...Do you have any recommendations for beginners getting out of stationary life style so to speak of 13 years??

#TRUSTMYCOACH I did the trustmycoach cardio warm-up before an HIIT running session and some stretching after running. But the next day I had a pain in both my quadriceps muscles. Can I perform the above stretching routine workout after the running session as a cool down in my next running session, and how many seconds should I hold in every position?

Hi James! Both options are good 💪 If you do these stretches before games/training: Hold each stretch for less time (10 sec max) and make it more dynamic. If you do these stretches after games/training or during the day: Hold each stretch for longer (10-30 sec) to help increase flexibility. Great Routine, i want to ask a question, i have a son who is 8 yrs old, he is gifted as goalkeeper, do these routines prevent him from being taller in future or not? And are there routines help to lengthen boys with his age? Regards

i was one to never take stretching seriously, until i realized that my body was always hurting. or after i took a shot my quads would hurt. i did this twice today and i feel better then i have in YEARS! i will not stop
