I absolutely love these old storybook homes. The same people saying these are grotesque are the same ones who buy these McMansions with faux brick and vinyl siding. And I so love that old Hollywood history.

My God I always wondered what the inside of that house looked like and it was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. It was decorated beautifully just right for the architecture. I'm literally just in awe of that house. How fortunate you were to walk around the whole house. The master bathroom was just breathtaking. Actually the whole house was breathtaking and it just made me happy so happy looking at a piece of Hollywood history. Thank You Jordan. That was really fvcking Awesome!!!!👏👏👌👌😀😀😀❤

This type of architecture was called "Storybook Homes" built in the 1920's, this example is one of the more extravagant examples I've seen. Most are gone now, and I would imagine someday this one will be also. Thanks for getting a video history for all of us to enjoy.

I think this and the "Witch House" are about the only two prime examples of "Storybook Homes" left in such wonderful shape (I am sure there are others, but I mean in this nearly perfect condition). I hope this one never gets torn down. I would live there in a heartbeat. "Storybook" architecture is my favorite next to Art Deco.

You can own it for a cool $1.7 million. Not bad when you consider the location, house & history. The previous owner bought it and everything inside it for $180,000 in 1983. The items inside would fetch that much now. What a successful investment that was.

What a great house! The Hollywood Hills are loaded with wonderful old houses like this. Thank you for your wonderful videos. I grew up there and while I recently moved back temporarily to take care of my parents, I had a similar experience at the Villa Carlotta on Franklin Street. I think it has converted to condo ownership and you can't just wander in off the Street and get a friendly resident to give you a tour like I did about 9 years ago. The environment was very similar to the rooms of this house.

It's good to be king. Incidentally the doorway is reminiscent of The Cabaret of Hell, a famous structure in Paris, built in 1890s, heavily damaged during WWII, and demolished in the 1950s to put up a supermarket. The architect was clearly referencing the cabaret. The doorway is also featured on a tarot card (The Vacchetta Tarot), which is how I came to learn about it during my research. History is fascinating sometimes.

Doing a little internet investigating (as I have read others have commented also) I would have to guess that the house belonged to Joel Schiller, artist, and painter of the Muppets who passed away 1/17/2017 at 86 years of age, and the house was being sold because he passed, I am not sure but this is what I gather from context. The house is beautiful as are all the Hollywood homes and seem like a dream to me as I am renting a small 2 bedroom in Chicago.

OMG. This place is wild! Clark Gable would have had many a drink in that fabulous room with the bar. What a perfect garden to chill out in. So quiet and peaceful. There was an incredible stained glass window on the first floor in front. That bathroom was amazing!! What a retreat!

Nah, he loves that little dog. They have a complicated relationship and that dog, basically, rules the roost. It is incredibly smart and indulged.
