I think that Biden is a typical Washington DC politician who can't really comprehend what we the people really struggle with. Ok was the words taken out of context yes and no because it depends on how one interprets the words he is speaking. He is very ignorant to how trucking works and his own party has made trucking a harder business to earn a living at. Yet he said Amazon stole all the retail sales positions but it also opened up a plethora of driving and other jobs associated with the whole process of Anazon including truck drivers. The thing is that they have brought in so many transient immigrants to fill truck driving jobs who have no intent on naturalizing and being part of American culture which includes safe operating of a CMV. I have seen this first hand as a driver and there is a lot of shady stuff going on with CDLs being issued to non English speaking people. I think the way I interpret what he is saying is you don't need an education to operate a CMV but it's a skill that used to pay a living wage. Yeah people need to quit being naive when they pay a minimum wage that is as high as a skilled wage to a high school student VS someone trying to raise a family and make inflation so high it makes rent very high. There is no way a store front business can compete with a warehouse operation the size and sophistication of Amazon or any other retailer who uses the internet. Not to mention crime where you barely make ends meet and you have people shoplifting to the point that law enforcement turns a blind eye like on the west coast. Seriously we need to take control of our government and voting isn't enough it takes serious action to fix this mess. Voting is controlled by internet companies you think your vote is actually being counted. Just saying... I appreciate your channel I haven't been driving a CMV long but I had to reinvent myself. I worked for a period at a truck stop doing maintenance and we are talking about ppl whopiss in bottles and throw them on the ground,shit on the floor of the showers, piss on the floor literally in front of the urinals then on top of all that talk to the employees of the truck stop as if they are superior talking about we are professional drivers blah blah blah but what other professional acts the way they do then demand respect?! Now there are some truckers who are respectful but not very many most are middle eastern decedents or some other foreign countries and tgen the Americans are also horrible starting with whites, they are the most disrespectful and go out of their way to destroy or make a mess just for you to clean. The black guys are mostly cool there’s a few who also act like I’m a truck driver I’m superior and they too trash everything then we got the Hispanics and for the most part they are all respectful but again there’s a couple who think oh I’m a driver and you’re Hispanic and you’re working maintenance. Yet ppl don’t under we get paid $18 an hr we get medical,dental,and health insurance not to mention we get 2 wks paid vacation every yr! 🤷🏽

We are...but for one reason or another we ain't doing what we are trained for. I have a bachelor's degree in education and am certified in Texas. I never taught one day in a classroom. I really don't like kids. I am also a journeyman industrial electrician. Truckdriving is semi retirement. I'm 60. I'm to old to climb towers and build power plants or do a shutdown. The hours are better driving too. I went years working 7/12s. At least, even if you are on the road you get a day off to do laundry. I used to pay to have clothes laundered. Alot of the young guys are going to have to find a craft that suits them, be it residential, commercial or industrial. They question is weather they can get off their lazy asses to do it. Truckdrivers that post about how hard they work have obviously never done a hard day's work. We are not special, we don't work hard, we shouldn't need to be thanked or rewarded for showing up to do pur jobs. You don't thank the electric company or the gas company or your cell phone providers. Why would anyone thank you? You go to work...just like everyone else, you do a job that provides a service...just like everyone else. You are not outside hanging of the side of a building in the snow for 12 hours. You are not pulling cables threw pipes in 120 dregree heat for 12 hours. Most of them will cry like babies...so be it. We are the only group of people that get paid a good living with no education, no background checks and ex cons can get a job doing it. Enjoy it while it lasts....then retire or go to treaded school. Electricians, welders and pipefitters are all professions that are so short handed you can negotiate your salary. But you have to be willing to put forth the effort.

Biden was referring to the threat to truc kers from self driving autonomous trucks and the fact that they'd have to be educated to take a different job. As a 39 year veteran driver i don't feel threatened but drivers in their 20s or 30s probably should not plan on driving until retirement age. The oligarchs are racing to develop self driving trucks. If they can eliminate the driver they can run the truck 24/7/365 with no driver labor cost. Between AI, Robotics, and self driving vehicles there won't be enough jobs for everyone and global population will have to reduce or starve. Don't know about being a programmer... I was one for almost 20 years, during his term as VP after the 2008 crisis, I lost my job... Outsourced to another continent. Not long after I found out the whole office was gone. I'm talking a very large financial & credit card company... Couldn't find work in that field to save my life. Lost my house, burned my savings and 401k trying to save it. On top of that, all that precious training opportunities he was talking about... Total sham. Tried to get into an auto tech school... Figured they can't outsource auto repairs, though I'm sure they'll try! They, the govt offices handling this restraining effort kept telling me no on the schools. The excuse was that the folks living in the inner cities wouldn't be able to go to these places )I tried three different schools in three different locations/cities... Each time, same excuse. I can't help that I have a car and can drive. The real issue was that I had kept my CDL from the 90's and they kept pushing me to be a truck driver again. A year after my house was gone and me & the kid were essentially homeless I went back to trucking. That was no easy feat either... No one wanted to hire me without recent experience... But I had been out of that racket for 20 years... Finally had a company give me a shot after they heard my story. Been trucking since, going on 12 years now.... Hate it more and more everyday but at least it is paying the bills for now. But my tea leaves are showing a very dim future... Let's hope I just need to drink some better tea.

Context is everything. he basically stated that people are losing jobs even in the trucking industry and are scared about their future. And some with lower educational levels will have a even harder enough time trying to get back to money that they were making truckers and will need to be retrain and he’s, putting systems in place so people can be retrained for other jobs that can get them the same type of money. What’s wrong with that? The only thing that is constant in this universe is change. If you try to go against that law of the universe, you’re gonna be miserable and stuck.

He's saying a lot of former retail workers may be competing for trucking jobs and employers will prefer the candidates with more education. If you have a record of years of safe driving that will probably count more than how far you got in school many years ago. Biden was merely describing the real world and the changes occurring with the "4th Industrial Revolution." Drivers who dropped out of school and have tickets and accidents will have a difficult time perhaps going forward. I know Biden didn't mention drivers' safety records or job history. Who do you think carriers will hire if the driver job market gets more competitive?

I lived with my parents after I divorced my wife and sold my house and now I have a HUGE house on 60 acres paid for and a bunch of money in the bank,gun collections, coin collections, insurance policies,a camp on the river,a classic muscle car and motorcycles.brother and sister tried to put them in a nursing home and they got nothing, living paycheck to paycheck and could quite possibly end up homeless because they're not coming here.anyway staying with mom is the best decision I ever made!
