@@kingkevboi67 If my research is correct, Savini remade the film because Romero had lost the rights to the original (hence the original can be shown in its entirety on KZbin and can be seen in quite a lot of horror flicks when a character watches it on television) and feared somebody would make a lackluster remake. He even pursued the film company to make sure Savini would direct it.

I agree with him. People are scary. Also, my parents never told me that some people are literal animals and act no different. I'm living near Seattle and downtown is a nightmare. It had been on a huge downturn even before covid19. The animals there will rob you, roll you and kick your ass when their done. I can't stand that arrogant criminal attitude where they throw their weight around acting invincible. IMO there needs to be much more police in downtown Seattle

this man is the creator Jason, no he didn't name the character, nor did he put the hockeymask on Jason's face, but he chose to make Jason deformed to give a better motive to Pamela, she needed her child to be watched every minute because he was a special child, and the only way to show it was through the face and if he wasn't like that he wouldn't have been interesting enough to bring back in the sequel and he would have no reason to cover his face with the hockeymask. Tom is the creator of JASON
@jasonl1942
@jasonl1942 2 жыл бұрын
Well... you don't have to be deformed to have a character who doesn't know how to swim. Literally everybody has to learn how to swim. Jason being misshapen has nothing to do with anything really.
@Tchernobog
@Tchernobog 2 жыл бұрын
@@jasonl1942 not sure why you replied so many years after. The deformity is EVERYTHING to do with the character.. what are you talking about? if it wasn't for that, then he'd just be a guy and not bother to cover his face with masks and the franchise wouldnt have a hockey mask, nor so many sequels. he'd have been bland.

Good to hear Lon Cheney was his 1st inspiration becausee Lon Cheney really was the man of 1000 faces. In the era of silent films he did all his own makeup which for a time before prosthetics and CGI is incredible a true genius. Each time he appeared on set he would have his makeup case with him and lock himself into his trailer and come out being whatever he needed to be. I think this has been documented in the Mark Gatiss series A History of Horror.

its weird to hear that people are saying that mr savini is not nice at conventions. i must have met him 10 times in the 90s and he always signed anything you brought for free and was always willing to answer questions and talk about what he had worked on and movies in general. maybe since he is getting older he is just getting crotchety i know im getting meaner as every year passes. he was never anything but nice to me.

He did say he's afraid of people at 16:30 . Could have something to do with it. That is, the way he was approached or the type of conversation. Many factors would have to be known.

I've met Tom 4 times...the most recent was 2 days ago in Manchester...I've had a few things signed from him...and while I can honestly say, he wasn't rude to me, but he just doesn't seem interested in meeting these fans that idolise him but i suppose he is getting asked the same questions over and over so it must be very monotonous. But he just doesn't seem to care about anything other than the money as opposed to people like George Romero, Adrienne Barbeau or Ken Foree who genuinely like a quick chat and make an effort. Savini is still a hero of mine though but it's much better to just watch his interviews online.

To Tom Savini I have met you and bought a skull from you. You may never read this but I knew the man you described who did the scanner scene of the head blowing up. He would come to the comic store I managed and talk to me on movie’s he was working on and that head blowing up in scanners. Now he does more CGI and worked on x-men ,Godzilla and others.

Anyone here actually notice that the 2009 remake of Friday the 13th was actually a remake of the first 3 movies?

This guy did great work for his time. But he wouldn’t make it today. Rick baker , Greg Nicotera , and many more fx guys adapted with the times. Tom didn’t in my opinion. Also I think Fluffy was one of his worst works he ever did. He toots his own horn too much about his stuff especially Fluffy. Tone it down a little Tom. Let your work speak for itself. Would love to meet you tho haha. 👊🏼
