I'm trying to use my gpu to render quicker. As Arnold does not support volumes on GPU is there a way to use AOV's to render fumefx and GPU for everything else?

Redshift now has a dirrect FumeFX support, so you might try that solution.

Hello, If you're exporting velocities then the caches can get really big. There is a lossy compression for .fxd files which is good for channels that you won't need directly in rendering.

Hello, If you have a large grid, the CPU utilization will grow with complexity and for the critical simulation parts it'll be close to 100%.

Thanks for this! Question on the size of the default simulation, once mine was finished it was over 100 gig. At the start of sim in the general tab it said it would be 7gig. Is this normal or have a i got a setting wrong? Also if i finished a wavelet turbulence sim do I still need the default sim data or can I delete it if im using wavelet as my playback?

7 Gig is estimated maximum amount of memory required per frame. Once you're finished with Wavelet sim, Default caches are not needed anymore.

That's probably because of very high temperature inside the grid that forces smoke to rise. Try to set Temperature to 0.

Make sure to properly assign channel names to the Arnold Volume shader.

FumeFX 5.0.2 for C4D supports X-Particles and Redshift as well. Apparnetly, Octane support has added as well.
