Fun and Easy Pyrography For Beginners | Decorated Eggs | Pyrography Tutorial

In this video I’m going to be walking you through a fun and simple pyrography project that I like to do. This project is perfect for beginners, but is also great for experienced burners who just want to play around with a fun and simple project.

I loved your work, in fact, its just what I have been searching for....and there is a Burn tool on its way to me as I text. Have got few cheepy bread boards, got dozen eggs on thier way too, paints and brushes on standby and folk art how to's also in waiting. I am tired of my Imaginations screaming inside my head to let them loose. BTY....I AM heading into my 75th yr and I run my own Mental Health Dpt, never TOO OLD 2 LEARN. Thank you for the Inspiration. Just stumbled across your channel yesterday, after buying a cheap wood burner from harbor freight. I just have to say, that you do absolutely amazing work! All your videos I have seen so far (which is quite a few) are beautiful! I hope I can develop skills that are even remotely comparable to yours with some practice. Your tools are so much nicer than the one I have, and I was wondering if you have a cheap wood burner, and if you could maybe show how to do some amazing work with it if it's possible. Maybe something mushroom/ fairly detailed forest themed?

Thank you! 😊 I have a walnut hollow versa tool, I’ve been meaning to make a video with it, I just like my Razertip so much I keep putting it off lol. For a long time though I used a burner I bought at Walmart for $20(CAD), and you can definitely do a lot with a cheap tool :)

Merci! Je ne sais pas la chaleur en degré, généralement je mets mon stylo au niveau 6. Et, oui, le peinture c’est de l’aquarelle.

What do you use to seal or varnish them. I like glossy finishes. Do you spray them? Wasn't sure if applying with a brush would smudge the paint

I usually use a Varathane gloss or satin finish. its a brush on finish, and I did have it smudge the paint once because I wasn't careful, but it wasn't that bad and its usually not a problem. I like that one because its water based and doesn't darken the wood or bring out the grain at all, which some finishes will, so its really good for detailed burnings because you won't lose the lighter shading. I was thinking I might try a spray finish on these though, just to be extra careful about the water colour lol

They look amazing, I saw in another video you did, at the end you had them on a round base, what did you use for the base stand?

Thank you! I think that was just for clear coating them, so it was just a plastic dram cup that I taped them to so I had something to hold when the clear coat was wet.

Great Job ! I'm a wood carver What type of wooden eggs do you use please, I know they are not Basswood to soft or are you ? Where do you buy them or do you wood turning on a wooden lathe. let me know the name of the store you buy your eggs please !

If you don’t think you can free hand them you can always find a pattern you Like and transfer it with tracing paper :) it would be ok with me if you wanted to trace the flowers off of the pictures of my eggs if you’re just doing them for yourself :) if you end up making one I’d love to see it!

Can projects that have been painted with water colors be resined?

I've actually never put resin on any of my projects, I have been thinking about trying it though. maybe try a small sample first and see how it goes?

I use a Razertip SS-D10 wood burner, and for this one I used the knife tip pen.

You didn’t get any bleeding outside the lines?

With the watercolour? I find it doesn’t bleed much past wood burned lines.

Merci! +200 euro 😮 Razertip n’est pas le seule marque qui est bon. Beaucoup de personnes utilisant Walnut Hollow et Colwood aussi. Et si celles-ci ne sont pas disponibles, essayez de trouver un avec un control pour le température.
