There’s no place like vert. That being said a lot of bowls do have vert wall extensions so that is very very nice.

Nothing like a vert ramp.

“And most importantly, does that make sense?” Now THAT is an excellent teacher. You can spew knowledge at someone all day, but if they don’t comprehend and understand it, none of it matters.

A power pump after you've landed an air up near the copping, I get it now. Could you please do a video on vert ramp stalling, it would be very much appreciated!

Love the bowl & ramp tutorial. East Coast tour only by the looks😪. Be good if you came to Perth.

Is any speed added when you go up the ramp, or is it mostly when you are going down the ramp? What about raising your arms as you go up the ramp? I know adding speed as you go up the ramp doesn't make a whole lot of sense, but "feels" like it would. Probably why I can't pump more than half way up.

It’s not like you’re actually going to speed up going up the ramp but you can pump. Meaning you’ll go higher than you would have if you didn’t pump so that counts as “Gaining speed” - the legs are the most important thing. Swinging and raising your arms only helps if your legs are involved in a big way

That’s how i was, i watched so much skateboarding content before i started, that by the time i started i had a lot of conceptual ideas towards learning tricks that i didn’t have to worry so much about learning how the board moves and more about how to make my body make the board move.

It must be the years of doing it. I tell people to pump for 5 minutes straight and they’re toast

So is this how you would want to land after a backside air in order to build up speed? Like say if you were trying to work up air time to do a 540?

This is a good example of the misguided approach people take when trying to teach people about pumping. You're focused on telling him to stand up or crouch down but those aren't even doing what you think they're doing probably. Manipulating your center of mass by timing standing up and crouching down is only half the equation, and a much less powerful side. The standing up and crouching down at the right time you're doing are mostly just forcing your body to actually PUSH off the transitions as your standing up. The momentum generated from the shift of the center of mass up or down a few inches was miniscule in comparison. This kid obviously has no concept of the first and overwhelmingly most powerful side of the equation, that is literally just PUSHING off a surface, generating momentum that is perpendicular to the face of the surface you are pushing off of
