Try a magnesium supplement before a long ride.. it will help with the muscle burn. And give you more energy.. Hemoglobin at it's core is iron. Chlorophyll at it's core is magnesium. During the war, when there were massive blood shortages, the doctors successfully used chlorophyll to replace blood. They are identical except for the iron and magnesium. I think you will find a nice surprise when you supplement magnesium before a ride.

I take notice when you travel as a pack, you are a pack. In my day here in Nova Scotia, Canada you were only allowed to be in groups of three and then there had to be break. I think at the time a group of three was one car length. This would allow for safe passing of traffic around you. But you have to realize that we were just only switching over to the 100 series of highways. When we went around the province on our bikes we were switching between the 100 Series (Trans Canada Highway) to the secondary main roads; so I can see why they limited bikes to packs of three, it was for our safety. A lot of the roads did not have safe shoulders to go off on when you were over taken by the huge trucks. I found that Germany had the best roads for traveling, there were pull offs just to the side. You could stretch your legs, have a quick nap or bathroom break with vending machines on hand. May not be a soul around but all was clean and quiet, considering you were next to a busy highway (I`m talking about the 70`s). Keep on Trucking Spud!
