I'm not Asian but i really wanted to go here and get groceries. I love learning about different asian cultures especially through food. In my culture food and religion are a big deal so i love how not only yall talked about food but talked about history of some of it. I really appreciated that. I wanna learn how to cook these dishes so i'm glad it is older generation cooking traditional home cooking at 99 ranch, I have tiktok to learn the younger different types of dishes people love.

No, no, no, just no! 🤮 Real story: I'll be honest, 99 Ranch food is good. But I bought food from the deli. I ate half the food when I bit into something plastic; it was a used BAND-AID. No wonder the shrimp stir fry has some flavor. Edit: I still go to 99 Ranch because that's what I expected from authentic Chinese place and it's cheap.

David got some history down. Much props and respect due my man!!! That Taiwanese Chicken Roll is also a staple in the Philippines called, Kikiam. True, it came over from one of the coastal regions of China. Fujian but transferred by Hakka folk. My gramps is from Hokkien (aka: Fujian Province) and homie speaks mad languages. Settled in the Philippines and set up a lumbar business. Homeboy got a whole other family in Hong Kong, LOL Chinese player. Anyhow, yeah man...You'll see most, if not all the Chinese influence is from the Hokkien region out there. These folks spread throughout Southeast Asia...all over the place and from what I believe, are responsible for many of the similar dishes being found among various regional cuisines, such as, "Kikiam". Can't front, Hokkien are mad up in "Min" Islands (aka Taiwan). The OG Taiwanese are very different from modern day. Ya'll should do a video on that alone! I love food and history...If I knew back a few years back I could make a living out of this passion, shiiiieeeet, I would have saved a hundred grand from grad school. (Sigh...)

Ok some actual facts from Taiwanese. 1. 雞捲 in 6:09. 雞捲 chicken roll does not contain chicken and hence does not tastes like chicken. It's made from "left over" food in households. Basically a mixture of different ingredients wrapped in tofu skin then deep fried. 2. Railroad bento box Railroad bento boxes are not for railroad builders. These are sold for railroad "passengers". You'd see them in the train and in train stations.
