I totally luv hearing you guys speak in your native language. 🥰

By native language you mean English right? They are Americans after all. Their Mandarin is kinda awkward. I think they speak Cantonese much better.

Most Chinese foods cooked in America are not high-end because they are usually cooked by early Chinese immigrants from China. They are not actual chefs but just ordinary people. A lot of them open restaurants for their living since it is the only skill they have in America. So the food is not supposed to taste as good as in China. Because of the low-end and working-class stereotype of Chinese food as well as the lack of training resources, there are few second generation Chinese in the US trained as professional traditional Chinese food chefs. New Chinese from oversea are not satisfied with the old low-end Chinese food in America. As chef Tian said in the video, they need to provide authentic Chinese food with higher quality to satisfy different customers. That is why I am very happy to see there are more and more authentic and also mid/high end Chinese restaurants opening in America. This restaurant I would say is very close to what a young Chinese living in Beijing or Shanghai will go to for a decent dinner with his/her friends or even date. It looks authentic, high-quality, healthy, modern and delicious. So jealous of people living in LA area with so many Asian foods available there!

Low-end food ? You don't like Cantonese style . Comfort food is the way to happy food. For High-end food tasted if only you have ton of money but not necessary tasted better. Give me Chinese bbq pork over rice anytime .
@weizhang28345 жыл бұрын
Frank Chen westerners like eat street food in China but that kind of food usually not good as in a good restaurant
@stuckathome0684 жыл бұрын
@@queenmonkeyhead the Cantonese style in china is vastly different from american chinese food. Of course no matter low end high end there are all kinds of tasty food but it's always better to have both.
@spartanwarrior14 жыл бұрын
I rather eat food from ordinary folks than that made by 3 star chefs anytime. It‘s the commoners‘ cooking that made chinese cuisine available to non-chinese

Americans have been fed with cheap fast food (McD, BK, KFC etc...) it is hard to compete with the Large chains, but at least Chinese American take out food has more vegetables than those fast food chains. Broccoli, bell peppers, onions etc.....

I think Asian restaurants have way more healthy options available than other places.. sure in some places there's possibly lots of additives used, however I love to go to Asian restaurants n stack up my plate full with broccoli, mushrooms n all kinds of seefoods. The food is always so delicious n well prepared. Also I love Asian culture itself, particularly the table manner, it s way different compared to Western culture. It's about really takein that time to enjoy and appreciate the food. ❤️

We have many here in Toronto (e.g. truffle dumplings and giant dumplings you could drink the soup with a straw, etc.). Most of the trendy ones popped up here about 5 years ago.
