I think an equal reason for any success with this tek is the dampness of the towel. Any particles that bump into it *WILL* stick and not bounce off. With bleach, or other sanitizing agent, killing nasties for when you inevitably touch the towel as you work so you don't transfer them by hand. Maybe it would be better to use a trivet inside the SAB.

Always flame sterilize outside the box

Its water and bleach. That's the solution. All bleach is dangerous and has a strong odor. i'd worry more about the flammability of the alcohol.

Use everclear. Bleach is toxic in any concentration.

Higher proof alcohol tends to evaporate too fast to disinfect with, I always have 91% on hand so I just dilute it with water to get 70% for spray disinfectant

i believe 90%+ isnt as good as 70%, but you can always water it down, 200ml water 800ml 99% iso should leave you with around around 70-80% (im not good at math)

After you shower put on fresh clothes, you can even spray them down with iso but that's excessive

I have a rain jacket with a hood that I spray down with the iso, I can put my gloves right over top of it and then I just spray my whole arms and anything else I can get and then walk around the house slapping my arms like the Birdman

Does the room you grow in have to be completely sterilized or is having a SAB with proper sterilization inside and out and on all objects that enter the box enough?

You'll want a SAB for inoculation your grain jars. Once that is done having the jars out in a bed room or closet is fine. Also once that jar is fully colonized and you ho to.a bulk substrate just any room is fine. Really the only requirement after the inoculation process will be temperature. Youll.just want to stay above 70°f but closer to 75 I've found increases the speed at which the mycelium grows. For this reason I always suggest a closet and a space heater on a thermostat.

Depends on the work you'd be doing I'd say. I have some 10" tall half gallon Ball jars I'm growing lions mane out of, so I had to get a particularly tall one. Unless you have a specific need like that I'd say it don't matter much.
