The app is amazing and I love the ability to make your own drum kits

Also Fade to gray from Visage used the CR78 and those were amazing sounds for that time... thanks for sharing Dan!!

Hi Dan, I found out about you by doing my grade 4 cornet exam on the ABRSM board! I'm Alexander Hallett, I won peer if you can remember me? It was back in July, I was ill the week before doing my exam, falling to tonsillitis, which I am prone to. I am very happy to have got a pass with 118 from you with being ill. How examiners go you were very nice and understanding. I got a distinction in my grade 3 cornet, which was my first ever music exam and I was very pleased with the outcome. I just want you to know I am much better than I was in the exam with you. The exam was in Malvern. Thanks for being such a great examiner, keep going and I'm sure students will really like you as an examiner. Great video and keep the good work up! Thanks for reading!

This looks awesome. Do you have any recommendations on apps for 80s style funk chords?

Nice video on funkbox. I think it used to be one of the better drum apps but i think there are better ones now. Of course its just my feeble opinion. The great thing is that there is such a wide variety of music making apos for ios devices. If you really want to have some fun try a relatively new one called Seekbeats. I can play with it for hours using audiobus to use a variety of effects apps to create some mindblowing sounds. The big thing that funkbox has is so many kits. Thanks for a great demo.

Cheers Perry! I've had the app for a while but never really got into it until now. I used to have a Dr. Rhythm DR55 but it went doolally, shortly before I discovered this app. I'm going to download seekbeats and some other ones and have a play. Thanks for watching!

Dan Baker I would be curious to know your opinion of the apps. I value the experience of guys like you. You speak well and know how to do videos. I will watch for more from you. Thanks

Hi Perry - I'm pretty impressed by these sort of apps where the original sounds have been extremely well sampled. If I'm honest, much as the original bits of kit are lovely to use, these apps are just as good, and seamlessly integrate into modern equipment, much more so than the originals...thanks for your positive comments on my videos!

@@DanBakerMusic I still have my DR55. Note that the dr55 is a subset of the CR78, to which I've always been partial.

If I had to choose between this & DM1, which would it be? Both are similar priced and sampled..not sure which one I should go with to recreate covers from the 70’s to ‘90s..help please?

get yourself some cheap akai tomcat/rhythm wolf and use it as a midi controller with funkbox. its fun. hardware sequencer 32 steps and all the gream classic drum sounds. ofcourse its not the same as the original. but who has like 15.000 usd for all the equipment you have in funkbox.
