Not really, is a mix of DDS, SMT V (Double Kunda/Kaja effects stacking) and Persona social links and time management aspects, plus a new time management aspect (travel time from one place to another) Somehow they mixed all of the best of their past titles into one

I never played Persona because of the whole school thing, but I'm very interested in this game because it's a more darker serious tone. The thing I wanna know is does the calendar system kinda force you speed run the game or can you take your time?

I hope you get to play it! To answer your question: no, the calendar system doesn't force you to speed run the game. There is no timer in Metaphor or the Persona games. The calendar is used to present to you deadlines that force you to have completed a certain object before each specific date. How you choose to organize and spend your time is entirely up to you, but there is no timer or anything like that. These deadlines have nothing to do with speed running or difficulty, but just serve as an important vehicle to progress the main story. I hope that helped!

I only have a Steam Deck OLED. I’ve played a few AAA games from PS4 and even PS5 and most of them run great. I played the new persona games P5R and P3R. I assume this will run on a Steam Deck OLED, right?

can you even max out every social stat in one playthrough? if we were going by previous persona titles then you have to play a certain way and you have to be very specific in picking your activities. i kinda dont like that.

This game HEAVILY focuses on turn-based combat. You can only really wipe out lower-leveled enemies on the field with the real-time action. For same level or higher-leveled enemies, you can only attack them a little bit while on the field until you translate into the turn-based combat.

Played the demo on hard and beat the dragon so far it’s just like p5 with slight variations. Which isn’t bad to me. The only negative I have is that the awakening lack design. Everyone has access to the same rehash awakening in a different color…still enjoyed the game. Enemy designs are over the top which is what I expect just wish our awakening matched.

I found that the protagonist doesn't really speak that much throughout the game, with his speech largely relegated to dialogue choices and certain cutscenes

fight system sounds stolen straight from kuro no kiseki, aka trails of daybreak, same EXACT overworld combat of hitting enemies to deplete a stun gauge, dodging big attacks and switching to turn-based system any time.... wow. what blatant thievery

Final Fantasy and every other turn based JRPG is a ripoff of Dragon Quest and Wizardry so don’t play them and DQ and Wizardry are rip-offs of D&D so don’t play them and D&D is a rip-off of the adventures wizards, druids (the mystery school) and knights would partake in niche instances in the past don’t play D&D also real life is a rip off of our progenitor reality, don’t play real life

I've played Trails Through Daybreak and while I had a similar concern thinking Metaphor's real-time system was going to be a carbon copy, it actually isn't. You can only fully wipe out lower-leveled enemies with the real-time system. Same-level or higher-leveled foes can initially be engaged with the real-time system to try to earn an advantage in the turn-based combat, but fights with these enemies must always be done in the turn-based system. They are quite different!
