Fun fact George Lucas adores Mel brooks therefore he gave his permission to make spaceballs. The special effects are done by ILM. That’s why the movie looks so good.

Dark Helmet's entrance is executed in hilarious fashion. I like how the mystique slowly goes away with each passing second. My favorite shot is when he's walking and the camera pans to reveal he's way shorter than his subordinates and the face reveal at the end is perfect.

I have the original DVD of Mel Brooks' "SPACEBALLS" which I keep with my other Mel Brooks movies on DVDs. What is hilarious is that it is a total send-up of the entire Sci-Fi genre. I would have put it in with my Star Wars DVDs instead, but I thought that that was a bit too much.
