Best event ever at Abq Dragway. Took me back to the days when we had top alcohol funny cars and top alcohol dragsters. Thanks Robert Costa for all that you do to keep this home track alive!

Thanks to the folks at Albuquerque Dragway and Thanks to the Funny Car teams for bringing the BIG SHOW to that old dragstrip. It's been running for a very long time for mostly locals. Having those monsters take laps for the fans had to be a HUGE shot to the tracks validity as a solid venu for fast cars. Hope they work things out for the funnys to come back again. I'll bet with even better promotion the track folks can fill those stands to capacity,, something they've not seen at Albuquerque for many, many years.

@@jkng4606, yeah, as in that Albuquerque sits about as high as Denver. With corrected altitude you're looking at 9250 regularly with nowhere near the surface of a Bandimere.

It the track a parking lot in the middle of nowhere?? I would have thought a local (ish ) TF funny car or top fuel would have made a pass in the last 20 years to rip a track record. I know it's at altitude and maybe short?

No nitro, those are alcohol only cars

Inaccurate statement. There was on nitro, Lyle Greenberg in the Cone Hunter; Ray Stringer, who won the B field in Blowncentless, and David Benjamin.

@@jkng4606 Benjamin went out round one. The other two, the flames are there but small. Pump volume and percentage play a factor into the appearance of header flames.
