An old, but still very good video for a beginner. Add to that, the X5C is still available, and is probably one of the best drones ever for a beginner. They fly well, for a reasonable length of time, and batteries and parts are readily available and dirt cheap. A true classic. One word of warning, unless you have some experience, DO NOT try and fly it in any kind of wind. It is a guaranteed way to lose your drone before you learn to fly it. Don't try and "trim" wind out, it will make it hard to control when the wind is behind it. Trim should be adjusted for the drone to stay in place in calm conditions. Always fly into the wind so if it gets too far out, it will tend to come back toward you.

Okay so i have a question, on my udi818 quadcopter when i give the throttle lets say 50 percent and i leave it there without touching it.It still continues to gain alltitude is it supposed to do that?

I clicked on to a couple of "beginner " videos and straight away they were talking in unfamiliar jargon, and one of them was talking about building your own drone! SERIOUSLY??? I was looking for a video aimed at someone who had just bought a beginner's drone, who had never had one before and had no idea what they were doing, or what they had to do to fly one. Then I found your video! It was exactly what I was looking for. You have explained what the two sticks are for. Now I think I will at least have a chance of getting my el cheapo beginners drone to at least raise off the ground, which is a great start for a novice! Well done :)

I'll do a video on that, but till than try this: - fly forward a few meters (right stick forward), - than both sticks slowly to left (left stick will rotate along vertical axis, right stick will bank/lean along longitudinal axis)

Theoretically only 30 meters, but I think in reality is more! (maybe even 100m if there are no obstacles between the transmitter and receiver)

Mostly yes, these are the most basic aspects of controlling any drone. One difference would be if a drone has the "altitude hold" function, in that case it would have a left stick that is spring loaded vertically also.

Either manually control the thrust (left stick), roll and pitch (right stick), or get a drone that has GPS, altitude hold and optical flow sensor, those should make the drone stay stable in the air without moving.

hi dear furulevi. Thanks for the video. when I start My quadcopter it keeps going higher and higher and sticks to the ceiling and if i try to bring it down using the left throttle it it goes to the ground. Is there any way to trim the height level like we do when it goes to one side? Thanks

On the Syma X5C I think there is no way to adjust the throttle trim, those buttons (shown at 1:02) are used for the camera. If you have a different drone than try out that vertical push-button at the left stick. And also calibrate it on a fairly horizontal surface.

Everytime i try to fly my drone the propellers dont spin at the same time altogether. Sometimes there's one not spinning at all on low constant throttle.Yes, It has crashed several times too on the bottom and the propellers do hit properties. Should i change them?

Clean the motors, straighten the propellers. Make sure they are spinning freely and they are not in contact with the propeller guards. If one of the motors is overheating then try to replace it. Well i am having a problem with my drone. When i move the controller to right it goes to left and when i press it to right it goes to left and same with the up and down... What to do please advise. I have Explorer 105v 6 axis gyro haobo drone.

Hard to answer... first try to simply take out the batteries and than reinsert them, calibrate the drone, check if some wires are not short-circuited in the remote or in the drone.

Have an expensive Holystone in our Scotland home, so I don’t have it with me, to tell you the model. That one has GPS & all the bells & whistles; it was a gift & i’m told expensive * >$1000. So when I got back to the States 2 wks ago, I bought a cheap one to practice. it’s a Cheerwing Syma X5SW-V3 FPV Explorers2 2.4Ghz 4CH 6-Axis Gyro RC Headless Quadcopter Drone UFO with HD Wifi Camera. So far the rain & wind stop me from trying it out. This reminds me of learning to drive on the opposite side of the road! :)

Make sure you are orienting the quad correctly. If you push the right stick up, the direction it goes that's the front of the drone.
