The story of the miko Takiko and Uruki is just so heart-breaking tho, and I thought Hokkan was being blessed with spring forever? Why isit snowing...

ikr! Takiko's father said that Hokkan is entering the glacial period, meaning Hokkan will be frozen forever that's why Takiko decided to go back in the book and save the city of Hokkan. And Takiko succeeded, she summoned Genbu and restored everything on the place. So, the story as well is quite confusing, maybe because the anime is released prior to the Genbu Kaiden Manga so the story is quite altered. (It's just my theory) or they still has spring and other seasons, it's just coincidence that they went into the Hokkan on that icy season.

Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden! It's the prequal manga about the progress on Genbu. A little darker, actually features a female worrior, the priestess can fight a bit. It's good stuff

The loyalty of Genbu warriors' Tomite and Hikitsu, for Genbu's Priestess Takiko is beyond words. I can still remember the time I read the manga Fushigi Yuugi: Genbu Kaiden. Takiko had a hard time gathering the 7 warriors, cause most of them think that their mark is a curse. Though it was kinda funny how Tomite was after Rimudo (another celestial warrior) at the first chapters

they r stronger than suzaku side. many of them alone could beat suzaku whole team. they only stole/robbed from suzaku side because nakago knew that the 2 guards won't give it to them whatsoever due to his country always being aggressive towards them. hence robbing is much easier.

Miaka is very suited for being priestess. She even made friends to the genbu and byaku warriors. She cherish her comrades and her comrades cherish her too unlike Yui warriors. Miaka is too pure and kind. She maybe clumsy but that doesn’t mean she is bad but it also explain that she is kind and very warm.

Just finished reading the prequel, Genbu Gaiden. Very beautiful and bittersweet and I liked how every little detail in the cave scene comes to a full circle between this episode to the conclusion of Genbu Gaiden. Though FY is good, I liked the prequel more and it shows Yuu Watase's development as a storyteller. I recommend anyone who liked FY to check the prequel out. And a funny observation: Tomite had a personality very similar to Tasuki (including the part about the abusive women in their lives) but complete opposite in their abilities (Ice vs. Fire, respectively)

A Shinzaho is a relic that is able for a priestess to summon the beast god. Since Miaka and company made a mistake and threw their summoning scroll into the fire..It is unknown how the other priestess's summoned their gods. Since it only tells the aspect of what happened in the past tense, but in Genbu Kaiden which is the story of the first priestess we'll know soon.

Did anyone noticed what Tomite and Hikitsu said? they said Takiko received the necklace/Shinzaho in the ceremony to summon Genbu, but she actually received it from the Priestess to help them track the remaining Shichi Seichi. It's quite confusing.

Maybe she wore it during the summoning of Genbu. It is said that the Shinzaho will be created on the thing the priestess wears during the summoning of the beast god. For example: * Yui had Nakago's teardrop earring during the ceremony that he gave her. * Miaka had her wedding ring during the final battle with Nakago * Suzuno carried the mirror during the ceremony * Miaka during the second ova was already pregnant when she and Tamahome summoned Suzaku to seal Tenkou (the Shinzaho was used in Eikoden along with the ring on Mayo's finger and I think it's also Miaka's wedding ring)
