Great tutorial, these are really satisfying to look at. Something I found messing with the orientation of the tiles is that by adding a small cyinder to the bottom of the tile, so that it looks like a spinning top, then using the move modifier to rotate one of the tiles around that axis (selecting one of the tiles as a body), all the tiles rotate around their own axis together so you can quickly see some different patterns emerge.
