This video will be an explanation of the Press Pull command found in Fusion 360. I'll also demonstrate how the Marking Menu works as well as right click content menus based on what you have selected.

Good video explaining the nuances of the press/pull. I feel like many users use it without understanding what it actually does. Wrong use of the command often leads to loss of design intent.

Hey There. Yeah, I get asked about this all the time. As you know I didn't cover all the subtle differences, but I think it hit the high points.

Another Amazon video from the master. Hey Kev, I also tend to use press pull when direct model editing like working on a non native Fusion360 model. Cheers 🍻

Thank you for a clear and concise explanation..so many of the other tutorials out there have way to much fluff and border on infomercials including the ones from fusion

Well, to be fair, Autodesk is in it to make money. I try to get to the point in these as quickly as I can.

Good video, as always; sure it will be helpful for some folks:) As for my part, I encountered gestures decades ago (doing 3D ~30yrs, since 3D Studio DOS!), but have found hotkeys to be best for my workflow (personal choice, I suppose). That said, RClick/context-sensitive menus are good for seeing what's relevant for given situation, though here again, I generally don't use this - though perhaps of more value to one who is new to the app. So, not being contrarian for its sake, just expressing my take on things. P.S. Thx for the "tip" on 'New Faces' vs. 'Automatic' for 'PushPull>OffsetFaces' - which BTW, though this brings up the 'OffsetFaces' dialog, the standard way (directly selecting 'OffsetFaces') does not have the 'Offset Type' option. So, an interesting difference. Anyhow, keep up the great content...

Is it because I'm a CAD dinosaur that I really dislike the gesture based menus? On the other hand, it is nice to see Fusion catching up with AutoCAD of any moons ago with the context sensitive right click menu ... ;-)
@MechanicalAdvantage3 жыл бұрын
YES! I'm telling you, when I embraced the marking menu in Inventor instead of shutting it off I could absolutely fly after about a week. I had super experienced coworkers asking me how the heck I was firing off commands without pushing any buttons. (They had chosen to shut off the marking menu by the way.) AutoCAD still has its place, just not in mechanical design in my opinion.

Thanks for explaining that squiggly line! Any way to disable it? Or have it rotate the camera instead?
@MechanicalAdvantage3 жыл бұрын
I don’t see it in preferences. I’ll keep looking and maybe someone else will know where to turn it off and can comment. Or maybe it’s time to embrace it and see if it can speed you up? :)
@JustInTime05253 жыл бұрын
Yes! If you change your navigation mode to "Tinker CAD", the squiggly line no longer appears and it will rotate the camera instead when you right-click. Hope that's what you are looking for :)

The inability to reference driven dimensions forced me to give up Fusion and revert to Inventor, I may reconsider Fusion once Autodesk rectifies this glaring omission, if ever.

That's a little dramatic, don't you think? It's on the road map.
