Rory Gallagher was also a car collector. A friend of mine was at an after gig function where Rory was surrounded by people all talking about his music and such, later on when he got the chance he asked Rory about his favourite cars and that was it, no-one else got a word in and my friend was left chatting with him long into the night ..Chrysler Saratoga

Paul's (original Paul that is not Faul lol) Aston DB5 seems to have been forgotten about as a car he once owned. The DB6 always gets mentioned but the DB5 hardly does as if noone knew he owned one. I thought it strange that there are no photos of him with the DB5. Surely he was photographed driving it but I haven't seen any such photos of him in it or posing for press photos beside it.

I agree. Don't get me wrong. It was unfortunate that night of 9 November 1966 (me dad's birthday) the original Paul picked up a girl and the both of them perished on that terrible crash on the road. Paul was decapitated. The other Beatles viewed his corpse. Sad. But say what. Billy Shears was and is supremely talented and the accident wasn't his doing. Ringo knows.

I visited the Beatles Apple offices once in 1970 and I arrived just as Paul was parking up in an expensive and rather flashy looking BMW. At the time, my friend was Lennon’s Apple office assistant. He also used to do the shopping for George Martin’s wife in a chauffeur-driven Rolls-Royce and looked after their guitars, kept under lock and key in the basement. But no mention of that BMW here. As Mac alighted, he seemed to be very much enjoying it - and no, he didn’t seem worried about meter maids either, because he just ran in.

What are the chances of that? John died in 1980, yet somehow they were never able to replace him. Makes you think, eh?
