I love the Cookie Monster moments he chucks in live - seems to rock the soul factor even more. Also ... pretty sure all the strings in the song are coming out of a box. The cello line at the end might have been real - but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

I can tell when something like that gets manipulated in a song I listen to enough to know and I know for a fact that thous string sounds you hear are not part of the original track. I'm guessing Gerrit, the Synthesizer, Removed some notes from the track to allow the strings to sound more amped up.

There's probably a way to find out for sure - but to me they don't even sound like sampler strings. They sound like pure synth. Doesn't really matter - its a great track.

Never heard this song in my life until it was used in the UK advert for Avios. Had to find out what it was. I'm now experiencing how brilliant this song is. Listen to it about 10 times a day at the moment. Fantastic. Love the bass in this.

A great performance of an amazing song. Even without the stage theatrics of his live show, Sam is a captivating and enthralling performer. The band is nearly perfect throughout, which doesn't hurt. The bass parts root the keyboard riffs in multiply complex and subtle ways. The keys are the true star of the song, if you really get down to brass tacks...and the whole thing is impossible without the elemental drumming.
