Cynthia Cooper, a WNBA legend, brought the European step to the States which was in 1997. However, I do agree the NBA is hard to watch because of some players. Sun will be alright

I stopped watching the Olympics 40 years ago, but I know enough about women's basketball to know Rachid Meziane coached the Belgium national team, not France. And with the Sun potentially breaking apart due to free agency, maybe installing a motion offense might make up for some talent deficiencies next season.

Blaming the softness of the NBA on European is diabolical. Tell your American brothers to start playing defense and stop complaining like spoilt brats. Almost all European stars like gainnis and luka keep saying the nba is soft because y'all made it soft.

Geneva I like you & your videos, but you are throwing out a lot of crazy stuff in this video that doesn't make any sense. I am not a Conneticut Sun fan, but I can admit that they have hired a really good coach. NBA fans & the media complain about European players because they are just butt-hurt that players like Wemby & Jokic are the best in the league instead of an American. And those European players are not changing the play to be less "American." Jokic for example reminds me a lot of the NBA style of basketball from the 80s that made the league so popular. Curry & Lebron are aging out & NBA fans & media just don't want to accept that the best young/younger stars in the league right now weren't born in the USA. This is also why there is so much attention on Cooper Flagg, because they are so desperate for a new American basketball superstar. And the the NBA has been limiting defense for years to prevent their highly paid superstars from getting injured. FIBA games are aggressive & defense oriented. It is just not the roller derby style play that is allowed by WNBA refs. Unlike WNBA refs, FIBA doesn't constantly call those touch fouls that just slow down the game (& provide more pts for the favored players/teams) & instead just focus on the harder fouls. I much preferred the FIBA refereeing. You get to see good defense played instead of players just whacking each other the entire game. If anything, it seemed to me like the USA women's team were struggling with the higher level of aggressiveness & defense they faced during the Olympics. I think it was because they are all big vet stars in the WNBA, so they are used to WNBA refs calling more touch fouls on their opponents. So they didn't handle it as well when the Olympic/FIBA refs weren't giving them the favorable calls they are used to getting in the WNBA. AT & Copper were the 2 players that seemed handle the FIBA refereeing well & not get flustered by the higher level of defense they were facing.

@@FabrizioPati-i6f I do agree with some of her opinion but we can't always blame the European players because they are soft we should blame on the mid 2000s and early 2010s that the NBA was boring and that fans were complaining that they was a lots of defense and less offense so the late great David Stern change the rule on having less defense and more offense but their is some true about European players in the NBA. I like balance between have American players and European players.

NY 🗽style of play, recruiting, ability to get Marinne Johannes, Sabally, Fiebitch .. they run a European/Int'l style of play + system. Olaf Lange coached GOATs in Europe. Wanted him for Sky.

I think I see the light. They signed 🇫🇷him to get 🇫🇷Gabby. Gabby made sure to sign a no guaranteed contract with Storm. Smart. So she can be signed by Sun for 2025 season. Sun might also trade up to get 🇫🇷Dominique Malonga in the 2025 draft.

It was by luck that you beat France.. so you should consider yourself lucky that you got him … by the way Basketball is global.. it’s no longer just America.. European players have much better fundamentals than NBA players!

Our border has been wide open the last 4 years and now, the WNBA is doing the same thing. How about an American for the AMERICAN WNBA league?
