Eldar have taken a back seat, lore wise. Right now it’s mostly chaos v imperium. But I’d love a full range refresh for Eldar, we need more harlequins

It's always imperium vs chaos, GW doesn't give two shits about the other factions because chaos and the imperium make the most money, they hate the eldar especially (for whatever reason) so it's only a matter of time before they are removed from the universe because there's no way in hell they are gonna let ynnead awaken and kill slanesh (because we can't have anyone that isn't the fucking emperor do any meaningful blows to chaos) or have the avatar of khane actually be useful and on the level of a primarch and just have him be a punching bag as usual because we have to have the overrated boy scouts in power armor and their dad's be the center of attention all the time.

@Orannis01 it's funny that when the Necrons got a refresh, almost the entire range got the business (twice now, btw). The Aeldar who predate the Necrons, both IRL and in canon, get a little bit here and there. They need to pull their fucking ingers out.

If I were a betting man I'd be putting my money on Alaitoc. Everyone forgets that they have major alliances with various corsair fleets and we did just get new corsair models. Also they are allies with Mymeara, aka the forgeworld craftworld. They are the craftworld with all the fancy ships, new aspect warriors, constructs, and titans. So they can bring the literal big guns when Alaitoc calls for aid.

I personally would like to see more of the drukhari. More of their hellscape burning to the ground and their insides being torn out preferably. But jokes aside i'd like to see some change in their situation.

Alaitoc and Saimhan fighting chaos would be a dream come true. I would literally play them on the TT if they would be introduced. Gw should bring more eldar factions to the forefront as the Aldari are a proud warrior race who imo are integral to the setting.

Well unfortunately GW hates the eldar and I doubt they will let ynnead awaken and kill slanesh or have the avatar of khaine be as powerful as a primarch (as it fucking should be) and kick ass, it's only a matter of time before they kill off all of the eldar so they can focus more on the imperium or more specifically space marine circle jerk.

Iybraesil should be brought into the spotlight, easily as popular as the non-ulthwe CW, and they have a great reason to be effective during the current event.

From a practicality standpoint I think Alaitoc would be a better choice for taking center stage in the Arks of Omen series. • Iyanden has their fleet & their relationship with the Corsairs + Wraithguard would be viable inside a space hulk, but their low numbers would be a losing proposition in the hard fought confines of shipboard combat. • While I love me some Saim Hann, their main strength lies in the Wild Hosts that make up most of their strength are ill suited to attacking the titular Arks of Omen within the void. • Ulthwé & Biel-Tan are probably best suited to the style of combat necessary to assault the Arks, but as you noted they’re either divided or reeling from all to recent calamities.

Ulthwe is the only intact and still full strength craftworld, biel-tan is to devastated to be the power it once was, Iyanden on it's prime was a force to be reckoned with but in it's current state it can barely defend itself. Alaitoc is also heavily devastated from chaos, there are other craftworlds that do not have lore and they could make it where one of them are also powerful but stayed out of the politics but I doubt it since GW despises the eldar and are looking for any excuse to remove them so they can focus more on everyone's favorite marry sues in power armor and their daddy's.

Great video, as ever WLR!! Totally agree that it's time for Alaitoc to shine. One thing though - Wild Riders the novel by Gav Thorpe has Ynnari and Saim-Hann fighting the necronty, and does go into their relationship. Sadly it seems no-one else bought it, so GW canned the series. o}c

Ulthwe traditionally takes the stage in activity against chaos, even with their resources stretched Ideally, Iyanden has had some diplomatic links to the Imperium, i could imagine they would give support against Chaos for assurances of no further xenocidal action from the Imperium, and their formidable wraith warriors, pretty much immune to chaos affecting them, would be of great assistance. I'm not sure Alaitoc or Saimhan see any true difference between the Imperium or chaos, and probably quietly support every exterminatus ever made against the Imperiums own populaces. They probably will be taking the forefront of the story because of that.

I gotta start this by saying I am a huge fan of the eldar, and I think they’re incredibly interesting. That being said, the unfortunate truth is that they’re losing every battle 🤣😭 a collection of their current greatest heroes got absolutely wrecked by the shard of a *somewhat random* demon prince. They can’t catch a break, and I don’t expect them to take any W’s soon either. Ima still play them only, but they really got no plan to survive nor do they have the strength it seems

Yup, I heard about that, the greatest force they could muster got curb stomped by 1% of the power of a slaanesh prince, and then they were told that last sword they needed to complete their goal was located in the palace of slaanesh, a place no one has ever managed to get out of and only one person has ever managed to even get to as far as i'm aware. Feels like the Eldar are just kind of the punching bag of 40k, even the Tau feel like they get more love.

As an Eldar player since 1993 I have no problems with the Eldar slowly dying out. Thats exactly who they are meant to be. I kind of hope an entire craft world could go all in and accept their doomed fate and go out in a blaze of glory one day, hopefully achieving something suitably epic in the process.

Does anyone know the reason why it was humans (and pretty early on) that birthed the first three chaos gods while the Eldar only made Slaanesh? Surely they had wars, plagues and political scheming before humans did.

My guess would be how primitive humans are compared to Eldar in terms of psyche. Our brutality is more basic and savage, our biology more basic and fertile for disease and our culture and society less developed, so less order and more selfish plotting and scheming. Just a guess though, not backed up by lore so keen to hear what other suggestions there are.

I think them coming from the war in heaven is more accurate than them being born from a human population of like 500 million psychically dull people. Like that makes no sense to me, maybe khorne and then started off very weak and just got lucky and become stronger over time.

In fairness biel tans been even more active going with the idea doing more with less, and have been pivotal in the war vs nods in laevonir (spelling) warzone on the 9th core book sending more hosts than any other craftworld and now its partially a fleet its reach is further than before

I think Alaitoc are more likely to do something against the Necrons. While the other Craftworlds especially Ulthwe have been focused on Chaos, Alaitoc have always sought to prevent the necrons

Hopefully, they write Alaitoc better than in the Path of the Eldar, where the whole Craftworld was defeated by a single Space Marine chapter and some Imperial Guard. This might be a good way to redeem them after such a poorly written story. Also, Saim-Han was the focus of the story Rise of The Ynnari: Wild Rider, where we get into the current status of their Craftworld and their opinions of the Ynnari.

None. A single guardsmen can take down an avatar of Khaine, Yncarne, Cegorach, and at least one phoenix lord before dying. At this point in GW's writing, I am quite confident that the real world earth right now in 2023 could take down a craftworld if we needed to. Eldar are less than a dying race, they are already dead, they simply need a reminder.
