Fantastic video! I feel like having the fog king and Noah and Mio answers would help make xc3 an even better story than it already is. It still stands that 3 has a fantastic story!

I actually love the idea of it being a glitch. That could have made for some very cool side quests as well considering there would have been others as well.

I've never been bothered by Noah and Mio's exception. It's simply fate, the will of the world, or perhaps a higher power. It's not like they're the first fated Xenoblade protagonist. Shulk's whole thing is his journey was fate, and Rex was fated to be the driver of the Aegis 500 years before he was born. (Also, Jin finding his past lives' notebook seems like the work of fate as well)

It's extremely interesting how you answered the question of Matthew sacrificing himself and such. I was thinking that because of N and Ghondor fighing that led to a bunch of green flashes just like interlinking, it was able to separate A from Alpha and I was thinking thats how Noah separates from N especially the interlinking that happens at the end of Future Redeemed.

The latter is a great idea too, and thank you! But I didn’t actually come up with the idea, a friend on discord told me about it and I thought it was so fantastic I had to discuss it here!

I think there are a few more unanswered questions (admittedly they don't all need an answer / can be guessed easily) : - Why are characters from the old worlds immortal ? - How can Shulk and Rex remove the time limit of their children ? - What are the moebius referring to when they say that Ouroboros use an "half assed" version of the interlink ? - What is the point of off-seeing ? - Why are there two Swords of the End ? - Why are nopons not stored in Origin ? - What became if the city people ? - How does the radio lore connect to Saga and X (if it does) ? - Who is Mythra's son ? (Dirk)

Pretty sure off seeing is like a morale boosting thing not for the fallen but the soldiers who are still alive. Taion says this after the joran fight

-Time doesn't flow in Aionios, soldiers age because of Z's shenanigans. -You could say they "hacked" Origin's database, hence why A warned them that was agaisnt the rules. -Probably just mocking them would be my guess. -Off seeing is designed on purpose for you, as a player, to wonder and theorize about its meaning only to realize that, in reality, it has no inherent meaning, it doesn't do anything, it's just a method by which they hope to send their comrades *somewhere*. Remember that cutscene where they talked about the moon? Off seeing itself has no meaning, except the one they give to it. -The Swords of the End are supposed to be seeing in a metaphorical way. They are supposed to represent the will of their wielder and Noah and N, Ouroboros and Moebius, are the perfect anthitesis of these two "wills" the people of Aionios have. I don't have an answer to the rest of your questions tho. And sorry for my shitty english, btw. I did my best but I still struggle writing long sentences.

The youtuber Miiks gave a fair explanation as to why Noah and Mio were reborn. He said that the clash between the Sword and Fists of the End gave the Ouroboros power to N too, forcing the regrets of his consciousness to separate from his body, similar to A and Alpha, thus forming Noah.

It was kinda funny to hear you basically explain my thoughts exactly with regards to how Noah and Mio keep being reborn beyond homecoming XD. What you described was pretty much exactly the conclusion I had come to after finishing XC3 for the first time. I do, however, disagree with that glitch being what draws Noah and Mio together. Personally, I would rather think that it's just some sort of "fated love" situation despite how cheesy or cliche it might be. As a result, in a very similar vein, that glitch could also mean that Noah and Mio still can be reborn despite N and M existing as Moebius. I do admit that this glitch being the cause kinda goes against the whole "repentance and intentions they left behind" thing; my belief is that the "repentance and intentions" thing wasn't *literally* what happened, but rather what the characters choose to believe despite not actually understanding the situation (cus obviously they wouldn't know it was just a silly glitch).

as stated multiple times in Future Redeemed, the will and power of emotion is a power source for both Alpha, N, and Matthew, so the repentance line for how Noah and Mio were reborn is literal, the power of the emotion, their will to repent, was made manifest, this is the same reason as why (N)oah and (M)io were able to live beyond their homecoming, the power of their emotions. As for how the 2 worlds communicated, this is answered directly in game, through light, light speed communication between the two pocket dimension universe as they reconverged and got closer. The Fog King is just a very powerful Fog beast from the other side of the rift. The Fog shows up where worlds are unstable, this is stated directly both in Future Connected and 3. By Shulk directly in FC, and by the fact that Black fog is around annihilation events, which is when the worlds matter collides and eliminates each other, which is scientific instability in a nutshell. None of these were unanswered questions.

Perhaps, and I know it is a crazy thought, the cycle of rebirth for Noah and Mio were caused by the manipulations of a higher power? Klaus in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 refers vaguely to a higher power when he speaks about his regrets and how it feels like a punishment. I mean we had some version of a higher power in the Xeno games, whether it’s the wave existence in Xenogears or U-Do in Xenosaga. I don’t really count Zanza/Klaus as a true higher power because he was made a higher power via the experiment. Hopefully we’ll get some more answers in the next game.

@@linkalot7415 Thanks. It’s been bugging me since I learned of the precursors to the Xenoblade games. In those franchises we are introduced to a higher power and a false deity. In Xenogears it was Deus (the demiurge) and the wave existence (a higher power), in Xenosaga we had U-Do (a higher power) and Wilhelm (who could be the demiurge) and yet we have had multiple demiurges but no signs of a higher power. I thought Na’el was going to be the higher power of the Xenoblade verse or at least have a connection to it but we never got a clear answer. I think we are going to get more answers in the next game (or multiple games) including the existence of a higher power and the true origin of the conduit. If I remember correctly that word is the name humanity gave the device because they view it as a part or a machine so it could be that’s not the true name of the conduit. Plus we are never given any backstory on the origins of the conduit beyond it being found long ago and it was fought over by the world government and the savorites. I’m going to bring up a hypothetical idea but what if the conduit is a remnant from a previous universe?

@@linkalot7415 I really did feel that way too. But then again if that did happen it would feel a bit too much like the mythos of the Elder Scrolls (in Elder Scrolls universe lore the universe is something dreamed up by a higher power and each kalpa is a different dream of the higher power). I know Takahashi is (seemingly) well versed in Gnosticism but I don’t think dreaming is part of Gnosticism lore. I could be misremembering but if it is correct then perhaps Takahashi and his wife wanted to avoid stepping on the toes of Bethesda and not be accused of copying their material. And if you haven’t gotten into Elder Scrolls try Skyrim with mods like the Inigo mod. He is pretty much everyone’s favorite follower mod. I always played with him installed but then my game started to crash and I have no clue how to create mods so I gave up. Yeah Inigo is that special.

You made the unanswered questions answered, finally! Although, i do have a question... If/when XC3 got/gets remade in the far future, would you like to see these parts of Future Redeemed retconned exactly like you said they would in the video, or would you rather leave the cutscenes the same, and have these answers given & thus confirmed somewhere else, such as, in another book, or something?

it took me a while, but settled on what i think the rift was. as the conduit connects and shares unlimited power between dimensions, the rift is a sort of naturally forming but messy "conduit" due to two dimensions coming together and energy spilling out. things displaced from other dims appear foggy since their matter doesn't belong. that would explain where alpha was pulling power from, a "conduit" which was probably easy to rip open due to nature of aionios. the dark purple fog we see in base game 3, i think, is not only the strain of the worlds locked by origin, but also medium in which mobius exist and their power source, as the two are inextricably tied. mobius could ONLY exist in a world exhibiting fog. so think their core is filled with fog, as seen with N, anchoring their souls in aionios, but in a stable way so long as they dont interlink for too long. but fog is also a hindrance to nuisance to mobius because their very existence is unsustainable, a fact they refuse to really acknowledge. they dont want to see that aionios is slowly crumbling, so they dont associate their existence with the fog. think the more bright orange fog in FC and FR is also "strain", but more hot and like a wildfire, whereas purple fog is like gas before it's lit.

Honestly, what always kinda puzzled me is how there are diffrent types of fogbeasts.(With what I call "Type 1" being the normal fogbeasts from FC that are monsters turned by the fog, "Type 2" being the fog king, fog knights and almost all fog beasts in FR and "Type 3" being only Alpha, who seemingly turned into a rift himself.) It's just not explained at all and it is further complicated by how Type 2-fogbeasts are seemingly the least powerful of them all because they seemingly lack the power to manipulate and strenghen non-fog beasts.

To me, Xenoblade 3 was already a bit too vague compared to its predecessors so it gave huge expectations on the DLC to answer too many questions to the point where it would have been very hard to answer everything and keep the story of Future Redeemed fluid. My only other explanation for why can Noah and Mio still reincarnate is going to be even less satisfying but it's the Conduit itself. We know the Conduit can mysteriously be linked to some people because it disappeared in Xenoblade 2 only once Klaus died. Alvis in Xenoblade 1 also talks about providence, which can be understood as the will of the universe. The Conduit is gone but Origin is still powered by it through Alpha's core crystal so the divine will itself could totally decide to use Origin to force Noah and Mio's reincarnation to make the world move forward if that's what it wants. I know this is a complete deus ex machina explanation, but there are few clues to support this. It could gain more credit way later in the future if the series explore more things about the Conduit. To me it's not nitpicking though, I would have appreciated having those answers to make the experience better for me even though I still find this DLC incredible. But more questions should have been answered in the base game. But at least I will take your explanations as my headcanon from now on. Thank you!

While I don’t personally believe the theory you provide for Noah and Mio being reborn into ouroboros, I think that the in game explanation if fine enough. A part of themselves has died and has been reborn, that’s a good enough explanation for me and makes sense within the established system the game presents. The fog kings identity is just a Normal Guldo that travels from Alrest to the Bionis to signify the collision as the worlds begin to show signs of disorder and strain. The black fog itself is a measurement of disorder and strain, that signifies the end of the universe, annihilation. Think of it as entropy in physics. The theory where the closer we get to the heat wave death of the universe, entropy, a specific type of energy that shows disorder and strain begins increasing resulting in the end of the universe, same thing goes for black fog and annihilation. Black fog is a measurement of strain and disorder, black fog, fog beast, and moebius are results of the strenuous world the black fog birthed (Aionios which is in a constant state of confusion and disorder). The annihilator channels in black fog and releases it into a single place, artificially causing massive amounts of strain in a single area that it breaks the ether shield protecting the 2 opposing matters, triggering an annihilation event Think of light communication as radio waves allowing for the worlds to communicate through screens and such, same thing applies to how the worlds were able to communicate. Light and ether is the only thing the 2 worlds have in common, it exist before and after total annihilation, so it makes sense that it would be the only way for them to safely communicate. I don’t believe in the rift theory but it isn’t that far fetched. N and M were able to continuously return to life because of the sword of origin capturing the regret of Noah and resonating it with origin making him an avatar for the wills of möbius in origin who had regrets unsettled before the intersection, a theme and idea explored in Noah’s side story ironically enough. A says to Matthew that the origin metal in his blade “intertwined his fate with origin”, and N could very much be the same. M by proxy would be continuously revived because it was N’s will. Your theory about X and Y is interesting but I have a different one. Z is closely related to ontos as he’s born from origin, a computer where Ontos lies at the heart of its workings, Ontos has a habit of making Trinities. Such as Meyneth, Zanza and Alvis, Shulk, fiora, and him again because he’s trying to mimic the trinity processor with the logos and pneuma roles. Moebius X and Y is just Z making a trinity for himself because it’s in his nature. Ouroboros in base game can only become male and female because Nikol modded the ouroboros stone once he learned that opposing things like male/female, logos/pneuma, stone/sword trigger an interlink. So I don’t think it’s because of logos and pneuma that’s it’s supposed to be male and female, but simply because it’s what clearly represents opposing things coming together. Animus and anima coming together is a very common theme in the xeno meta series.

correct me if im wrong, but don’t we only see both Noah and Mio die via “homecoming,” during the final flashback w/ their child, implied to be their final lives before joining Moebius? Iirc, all of the other flashbacks show the two of them being killed at the hands of Z. I interpreted the line of them “surviving beyond homecoming,” to simply be in reference to Noah and Mio continually performing the same actions in each life (Meeting eachother, defecting to the City, falling in love, death), their eternal recurrence if you will.
@June26A7
@June26A7 Жыл бұрын
You are correct. In the cutscene in the begining of chapter 6, they disappear in blue light, which means they died "normally", not through homecoming. As for surviving beyond homecoming. the full context for the line is "Have you never prayed that time would simply stop? Have you wished the "now" would last forever...? Your two lives, thriving and persisting far beyond Homecoming, surpassing the system of the world.: Z uses persisting beyond homecoming to mean becoming Moebius and living forever.
