Literally just take Morrowind's design philosophy and improve on that; on a different setting, go back to smaller but fuller worlds--personally, I think the lack of voice acting in morrowind still works if applied today, it really does help to flesh out the game more.

intro hits hard this is the most kino Elder Scrolls game by far. Morrowind is more alien and unique and Skyrim is more morose and cinematic but Oblivion's aesthetic is the most beautiful

SO, you have absolutely nothing to show us about the new game, just assuming that it will be this way and that way. Just trying to hype the people to buy it, you must be working for the company that is working on it. We'll just wait and see what it is, when it ships.

'Sword'singing should be evolved with just not swords but weapons in general. Not only that, let us have floating swords and autonomous sword summons to accomodate mages as well.

Honestly, it would be better if instead of High Rock-Hammerfell War we would have a Aldmeri invasion of Hammerfell, coming together with an expansion of lore in a direction of Second Great War.

Some good ideas here, but the title makes it sound like it'll be about the actual Direnni and not just their tower. I was wondering how you were going to incorporate them into the story since they're long dead, but you didn't, oh well. They'd have to come up at some point if the game focused on the Bretons at all, and it seems the Bretons are kind of sidelined here despite half of the game world being their province.

Tes6 has been in development for more than a year, and it was in pre production for 2+ years before that. Bethesda has decided where it will be, and that’s in high rock/hammerfell.

The game needs an thick atmosphere of mystery, not just a set of game mechanics to decode. It should withhold information at first and revel it slowly, and not always accurately. It would be neat if parts of the map get reveled to you based on interactions with characters. It would also be neat if you could navigate unmapped areas using the stars at night, rivers, etc. It should definitely feature the types of puzzles that make you feel clever after you figure them out, not just the claw lock repeated in dungeon after dungeon.

For fun, I was going to have some of the characters I used for this mod be modeled after the Dragonborn's children (Sofie, Lucia, Blaise, Alesan) and roleplay that they are trying to find their own places in the world while dealing with the grief of their parent's sudden death.

Link Between Worlds brought non-linearity to 2D Zelda, but did so while retaining the traditional dungeon design and whatnot. However, the game did move items out dungeons and made them all rentable as part of the in-game economy from Link's house. It's a really unique system and is, so far, the only real merger of the 2 systems, and it was the first "freedom" oriented entry. The transition from the old formula to the new one. It was our goodbye from the Zelda team, it feels like. Echoes of Wisdom is continuing on TotK's legacy in a more kid friendly format. Nintendo needs a new Zelda team with different leadership. Aonuma's more than made it clear that he doesn't care for the story, lore, or game design of old that the series was built on. He just wants to continue grafting his gimmick of the dev cycle to the most recent skeleton structure of a formula he could get permission to call Zelda from the higher ups

I thought that most people, as Luxin did, guessed that Estham was the avian-looking titan that can be seen on Hugo's map, directly above Torna, but regardless, i'm pretty confident that THAT is Estham instead, and, as Luxin states in his video on Hugo's map, the titan that you called Estham was instead the Cliffs of Morytha, most likely. (Anybody watching this that hasn't already should really watch Luxin's video about Hugo's map) Also, just a slight correction here, but the Gort fight actually takes place on Gormott, BEFORE the main party departs to Spessia. One more thing i have to say is... you forgot about a lot of other titans. Namely, the bevy of other trade guilds that we don't ever see at all, learn very much about, or let alone visit, in XC2's main game, or Torna. It's even crazier that we never get to visit any of the other trade guilds besides Argentum, when all of the same unseen trade guilds are namedropped in Torna AND the main game, meaning that they were around in Torna, and STILL around 492 years later when the main game takes place. I really do wish we got to visit at least ONE of the other trade guilds...

You made the unanswered questions answered, finally! Although, i do have a question... If/when XC3 got/gets remade in the far future, would you like to see these parts of Future Redeemed retconned exactly like you said they would in the video, or would you rather leave the cutscenes the same, and have these answers given & thus confirmed somewhere else, such as, in another book, or something?

The problem isn't Aonuma, but Fujibayashi. His approach to making games is to have a rigid and unyielding philosophy. He directed Skyward Sword where the philosophy was "Everything is designed as a dungeon." Then his next two games were "Everything is designed as open ended non-linear elements." As long as he is the director, you will not get a "hybrid" Zelda game.

You get an automatic like for acknowledging and appreciating not just Ghirahim but also Zant :þ Ahem, but yes, good video overall. Definitely some points I disagree with like botw having almost no/flat story, I think the story, while very scattered around and 'optional' was very good. I also tend to consider the lead up to the divine beasts as extensions of the dungeons themselves, so in that way they're sorta different but, yeah, nowhere near as good as traditional dungeons... I don't know.... botw is one of my fav Zelda games along with Twilight Princess, which many consider too linear so my two favorite games are sort of the opposite end of the 'freedom spectrum'. I also adore Skyward Sword (mostly because Ghirahim exists tbh) but there were more aspects of it I didn't like such as the repeated imprisoned fights so it's not quite up there with the other two in absolute favorites, the linearity was never my biggest problem there though. All this to say: I don't really know why linearity is considered so bad, it means the game can tell a focused strong story and develop the difficulty of content properly. Sure, too much linearity with no freedom is bad but I'd say the other extreme is the same, you need a balance of both and I hope future Zelda games can find that balance! I write this as i've been obsessively playing Tears of the Kingdom lately and having so much fun with it... while still thinking about how much better it COULD have been...

There could be a happy medium that can become an excellent formula: Have Dungeons that can be played at any order, but that grant their own items necessary to progress the story. Have weapons that don’t break, but can detract damage points the more you use them. Have the Master Sword as vital and UNBREAKABLE. And please, have Link heal up by eating or drinking while in motion, not at the pause menu (have a dedicated items button).

I hated going to a menu to frequently use/switch items in OoT and I still hate it in BotW/TotK Please, I don’t want to stop my gameplay entirely through a menu like that. The Weapon/Rune switch via the slide menu is perfectly okay or really just a dedicated button for food or potions.

Reminds me of a poem I wrote a long time ago... Breath of the Wild A lonely awakening, a disembodied voice, Proceed from here, then make your choice. An empty world, sad ruined lands, Have fallen victim to Ganon's hands. Scattered survivors live out their days, Living their lives in a meaningless haze. Your memory is empty, you clutch at the light, But what you remember is only her spite. Your failures haunt you, unsure you can last, But defeating Ganon won't undo the past. Your weapons keep breaking, just like your resolve, What will seeking vengeance solve? Hyrule is no longer the land of the hero, In the eyes of the people, you're just a zero. The quest doesn't matter, there is no reward, Who cares if you find the Master Sword? Any fool could beat Ganon, if they cared enough. Is believing it's your destiny just a big bluff? Does it profit you to go here or go there? It really doesn't matter if you go anywhere. A vast, endless landscape to search for the seeds, Fulfilling half-forgotten wanderlust needs. The memories and shadows of your earlier time, Leave you longing for a brighter day and a better rhyme.

Agreed wholeheartedly. Great games? Sure! But there's no magic anymore. No real feeling of progress or worst, no feeling of urgency. There's no real story, nothing to find out about it, so I really don't care what's gonna happen next. Also, adquiring new specialized weapons to progress is lost, which defined the wonderful experience

Classic Zelda has always been more similar to metroidvania in its game design. Except instead of one huge sprawling dungeon with a limited overworld, there's a big overworld with many dungeons, and a larger focus on narrative. It's been like that since the original, with Link to the Past refining the formula. To say that the modern Zeldas are improvements over the old formula directly is asinine. They're just different games at this point. I'd be totally fine with the modern Zeldas being an ultra strong third pillar alongside the other 3d games and 2d games, but there's no need for this to be Zelda's only future. 2D metroid coexists alongside prime just fine, so why can't this new style exist alongside the old, even if you have to have some other dev team manage it. I'm open to new ideas and concepts, but there's no need to throw out what worked before completely, especially when you're not giving anything to substitute.

people saying story was not a strong suit in zelda games is complete bs, yes they weren't the main focus but games like MM prove that the story is not always just an after thought, even games like Link's Awakening is a good example, TP, saying Zelda doesn't have good stories is just a bs excuse that people make when they try to defend BOTW's lack luster story.
