Why has no company come close to the 7 year old Pearl Mimic in terms of sounds and features?

SD3? Even GetGoodDrums beats that new Roland sound.
@bruceperkins29213 күн бұрын
ah, but the weak spot of vst is load times. no way to change kits mid song or even midset. roland owns that. also in a live band situation, no general audiance member would recognize roland vs. vst. VST do rule it when it comes to recording and realism.
@EVILJAMARR3 күн бұрын
@@bruceperkins2921 why would I be changing kits mid-song anyway? Haha good points though. Recording is my focus so I guess that’s why it’s so important. Live music is rare and expensive these days.

The sounds seem to be getting worse. I like the features and hopefully linked up to SD3 I won't get any errors. I'm using a TD-30KV right now but maybe this upgrade could work. Please Roland just work with Toontracks SD3, and get their sounds already loaded into the model. I would get one immediately. If I have to use and e-kit that would be what I would do. Whenever possible I would always play acoustic sets. edrums are still not even close to real cymbals and drums.

I don’t doubt this is a great kit, but I haven’t heard any kits on here that I like more than the kits on my TD - 20X. In fact, some I like less. I agree, I have a TD27 as well so I would only really be upgrading for a color screen 😂. The snare seems cool, but I'm sure that will be at least $1k on its own, so all in I would probably be around the $4k mark to toggle the snare on and off which I can't think of any time I would need to do that other than messing around with it because I can.
