Excellent video on the varieties and usage of these seaweed gems. Korean seaweeds are rather expensive in Singapore but I try to include them in my children's diet because they are rich in iodine. I made the dried seaweed the same way as you did and I also added in shredded carrots and apples. So good as a side dish! heard teens who eat more seaweeds will grow taller, is that true?

I recently discovered your channel and subscribed immediately! I plan on doing groceries tomorrow for some staple Korean ingredients so I can start following your recipies. My boyfriend doesn't like vinegar, mushrooms, fermented soybean, soysauce, fish sauce and oister sauce... I hope that your recipes will persuade him into liking these kind of 'Asian' flavours. It's really a pity. Since I love Korean, Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine! Especially vegetarian dishes!

Ughhh these all look so good. I have a totally unhealthy relationship with the roasted and seasoned seaweed that you can just buy in packs. I try to limit them to one pack a day but... yeahhhhhh, I have no self control with these things. I feel like the amount of salt on them wouldn't be too healthy if consumed often, but I have no idea how many of those packs is too much :P ugh they're just too good. I'm definitely going to try the one with cucumber, it looks yummyyyyyyyy!

Hi Daniel and Katie! I've been to Korea in Oct 2012 and in one restaurant they served sliced hot silky tofu with the sauce you made for the seaweed sheet. Does that sauce goes with anything (not only for the seaweed sheet seasoning)?

I made some seaweed salad with Kombu from when I made my dashi, carrot and Korean radish. I just read though that Kombu has a TON of iodine. Is this safe to consume daily, either the kombu itself or dashi in general?

@FutureNeighbor7 жыл бұрын
Hey Matt! I would recommend replacing the dallae with chives. Works just as great 👍 If you find yourself at an Asian mart, try picking up some tofu as well. The sauce works great as a dipping sauce for pan-fried tofu.

Fun fact there are no poisonous species of seaweed they are some that taste awful and therefore be considered an animal and they can absorb contaminants from the environment but for the most part you can eat any seaweed you find on the beach.
