I dropped a like. Today, I bought a fuyu persimmon from Home Depot also. It's larger and costed me $119, so I hope it fruits this year. Thanks for mentioning that yours broke out of dormancy in March. I'm in NorCal zone 9b so I think mine will break out in March also. Thanks for your helpful info and awesome video!

The one I use is to soak worm castings in water overnight & use it to water the plants.

I also bought my persimmon tree in April last year from Home Depot. It had few leaves but fell off soon after I planted. It's cold in the winter in NYC; so I thought it was dead. But this year leaves shoot out in the spring and there are flowers too. I am so happy. Hopefully my persimmon will bear some fruits. By the way you have a good looking tree.

I have a persimmons tree and it’s flowering , and first time to see flowers since I bought the tree from last year. And some flowers turns black , is that a sign that it will not bear fruits. Pls advise . Thanks.
@p-treegardening83662 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for stopping by, from my experience, the tree will only keep a certain amount of fruit/ flower that it is able to support.. the rest it will reject. So I’m thinking the black flower might be the rejects.. hopefully some will remain. I have faith in your tree!😊

Hello 👋🏾 fam! Your persimmon tree looks about the same age as mine but yours is a little ahead because of your zone. I’m in 8A in Fort Worth, TX and it’s good to see where mine will be in about two weeks. Thank you so much for sharing and keep the updates coming! Stay blessed! -Calvin

When did you cut it back and after how long did it start bearing the flowers and buds

Enjoyed your video persimmon grower, and I was a bit concerned about the flowers but thank you for sharing, I'm told they don't require a whole lot, but you mentioned compost tea, what's that made of.
@p-treegardening83662 жыл бұрын
Hello.. I’m glad you enjoyed the video🙂compost tea is just compost scraps, that you allow to steep in water( I use a 🪣)for few days to a week.. then dilute with additional water before watering your plants. They have videos on KZbin that better explain.. hope that helps!!

Your persimmons tree looks great. I never had one before. What would you compare it to?
@p-treegardening83662 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to compare it..in my opinion they have a cinnamon like flavor. If eaten ripe it has a texture of cantaloupe.. Hope that helps! 🙂

hopefully by now you have had a fully ripened (makes a difference) persimmon and loved it. My first time was about 20 years ago and I get them whenever they are in season. I bought a plant which hasn't fruited yet.

Hi, what do you use as fertilizer?
@fth1013 Жыл бұрын
from what I have read, persimmons don't require fertilizer, however the best is said to be a 10-10-10
